LucasArts is following the same path as LucasFilms.

I'm also in agreement with comment on first article (the drunk thing, not the pantless man, although he could have been chafing himself.)

I love it.

"I've never heard of it and I don't know if I believe it," she said. "It might be a robo-lobster."

First article warms me up something good inside. Got fired from work? 2 children to feed and you're only 24? Here, have 50$ million! Actually, I enjoyed it because they seem to have plans now, got financial coverage and intend to go back to school to better themselves. Obviously money makes people better.

Doom3 is quite the trip. Personally, I still jump a little in doom1/2, but now with Doom3 the feeling is even worse. The lighting and graphics are very nice, and the way your enemies move bring the surprise factor up a lot through the realism of it all.

Let's not forget the guilibilty and easily superstitious nature of ancient man. Before scientific theories and experiments unexplained events were very commonly given mythological or religious origins.

I honestly doubt today that thunder is still being generated by the furious hammering of the skies by Mjollnir, Thor's trusty hammer.

I would have to agree that the Nacho Cheese Doritos are rather bland now. Back in the day when it and Cooler Ranch were the only dorito flavors I ate it all the time. But now? Nacho Cheesier, Spicy Nacho, Salsa, Green Verde, and all those other assortment of flavors have made regular nacho just so useless.

Jeeves isn't fat, at least by American standards. And there's no way changing from AskJeeves to Ask is going to make me want to use the search engine more. If anything I would go to AskJeeves merely for the allusion of talking with the omnipotent Jeeves as he shared his knowledge with me.

I'm always in awe at how much turning a videogame into a good movie seems to be an impossible ordeal. It hurts to watch them, but I do anyway.

#45) Thursday, October 13, 2005
1. I tend to buy video games and never play them. I have about 15 gamecube games, and of those I only play about 3 of them on a regular basis. Many will be opened, played for about an hour, and then sit on the shelf for eternity (but for lack of being fun). I've had Metroid Prime for all of 2 years now and I have yet to get past the first save point.

2. I'm terrible at keeping a clean room. The floor of my room is covered in a thick layer of school work, clothing, and misc. junk. There are only a few spot on the entire floor one can step without stepping on something, and it's quite a feat to get from my bed to my computer to the doorway. I love it.

I really wish common sense and a persons IQ factored into a defense for video game/TV industry corrupting our youth.

Maybe schools should hold a "How to Tell Between Reality and Non-Reality" course session early on in the educational process, or better yet parents should sit down with their kids, slap them around for a bit, and tell them "Look, if you shot yourself, attempt any daring stunts evolving cars and/or explosives, jump off buildings, or play around with weapons you or someone you know could get hurt/killed. Do not believe the TV and the video games."

Problem solved.

#56) Monday, November 21, 2005
Maybe once expansion comes out? End game stuff never really held any interest for me, so maybe it'll be fun to be a newbie blood elf exploring the Outland dimension.

The math emporium is still a bane on the lives of us Tech students. Now you don't even have to be in a math class to go there. I once had to take all my entomology tests there because the teachers were to lazy to hand out paper and then have them scanned through a scantron.

#73) Thursday, September 21, 2006
It's always a wonder to me why some people are in such a rush to graduate like that. One year with two majors? Man, although it's admirable to be ready to join the work force at such a young age it's like he hasn't even had the chance to enjoy the spring time of his youth! His high school days must have been pretty exciting with that many AP credits lined up :[.

#74) Friday, October 13, 2006
Movies like Friday the 13th are all jokes now and rather hookie. Every time I try to watch the original Friday the 13th I get bored and actually start to wish for people to start dying off so the movie will end faster. The Grudge really terrified me when I saw it in theatres.

I think I sit on the borderline between the old and new generation. I love Back to the Future and Gremlins, while still being able to cite The Grudge as a scary movie. I am a missing link.

Honestly, they spent 18 months working on that? It sounds a bit to sharp/high near the middle, kind of like an annoying chirp.

Immortality like the Highlander. I wouldn't have any real powers except coming back to life, plus I could actually die by decapitation.

#78) Monday, November 20, 2006
Some people out there are racking in hugs sums of money by purchasing PS3s at various vendors and hiring/bribbing others to get them and hold them. Sell them on ebay for a quick $2k and you quickly make up the money on purchasing them and then some. It's not a wholly bad thing to buy them just to sell on ebay, and it only really works because of the stupidity of others. I'm kind of hoping they all discover some massive flaw with the systems such as they only play E rated games or DVDs made after 2005. That sort of thing might smack some sense into people who just have to have it.

I think animal news links are my favorite news links...ever.

I can vouche for this review on the game. I've played through some of story mode, and that little bit of craziness was some of the most fun I've had in awhile. Plus, it's just hilarious to play.

#81) Thursday, January 25, 2007
Of course the video of the level being played doesn't do it justice. The games are so flashy and fast paced that if you don't know what you're looking at then it just looks really weird. If you watch someone playing it and how they move the controls then you'd understand way better, since games all last between 3-5 seconds.

#82) Tuesday, February 06, 2007
Kakakaka, the controls on the GC version are excellent :D

#83) Monday, February 12, 2007
In any case how did he mistake a person for that? Nutria are only about 15-24 INCHES in size.

I'm sorry, good sir, but I must disagree with you selection of the Worst Mario Game. Have you never played Mario's Time Machine or Mario Is Missing?

#92) Wednesday, August 01, 2007
This newer version seems so smooth and rounded! I'll have to test it out, see how it handles some other time when it's not 3:30am in the morning and my mind is operating coherently.

#93) Monday, August 06, 2007
I think she should be glad she wasn't assigned to Thomas Hall, the one next to Shultz dining hall and the BK off campus. It's co-ed now and still by far the worst dorm out there due to its lack of location to anything worthwhile on-campus and its shoddy living conditions.

My plans won't be able to go into effect until probably a year or so after you've passed on as ruler of the world.

So early!

#101) Thursday, November 22, 2007
When comparing the two pictures it almost looks like all the original cast was replaced with different people, while keeping 1 or 2 from the last season.

#102) Wednesday, January 09, 2008
I'm glad I atTENded that poker game.

#103) Friday, January 11, 2008
That's Plinkette. she's the cute one. Plinky is sort of homely.

I think we came to the decision that it was something like 4 cups in a galleon, which was slightly off by about 400%.

#104) Monday, January 14, 2008
Of course that snot how people see it.

#105) Friday, February 01, 2008
I can not stand the type of ads that will cover a good chunk of the page (usually at the top, but occasionally right in the middle) and then FOLLOW you as you scroll down the page because you had mistaken it as some sort of alignment error due to coding and image size. Being forced to click those ads just to get them out of the way is beyond annoying.

SSB:Brawl US release date of March 9!

#107) Friday, February 15, 2008
Perhaps I should legally change my name to Mr. Chelonias Jaood.

But if I do that then people won't be able to make questioning remarks about my name when reading it off a list or resume.

"Lets see..is there a Michael...Jackson?? Is that really your name? You must get people like me commenting on it like that ALL the time."

#108) Thursday, February 21, 2008

And you need to try one of the big, deep fried pork eggrolls. Not every Chinese place has them, but I always treasure it when I find out a place does. The flavors and textures combined with sweet n sour sauce, or maybe hot mustard is just too delicious.

#122) Friday, June 20, 2008
I suppose Nintendo finally got Birdo that sex change he/she wanted. I still remember reading how in Birdo's first appearance he was listed as gender confused cross dressing dinosaur that shot eggs.

#123) Friday, June 20, 2008
Interesting...

Birdo, known in Japan as Catherine (キャサリン, Kyasarin?), is an ally to Mario and playable character in various games. Birdo first appeared in the Japanese game Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic and the remade Super Mario Bros. 2 as a recurring boss. Birdo later appeared in Warios Woods as an ally of Toad, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars as a boss character, and in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, as a boss paired with the thief Popple. Birdo made its first playable appearance in the Nintendo 64 installment of Mario Tennis, as Yoshi's partner. Since then, Birdo appears as a playable character in several Mario sports titles and in the Mario Party series. Birdo's gender has changed throughout various American games, but has remained male in Japan. It was originally described as "He thinks he is a girl and he spits eggs from his mouth. He'd rather be called Birdetta." in the American game manual but later the second sentence was removed but the first sentence was unchanged.

I enjoy a good WoW post. There have been so many times where I am tempted to make a long post about why I do and don't play WoW but then I remember the replies are going to be anything but constructive. Posting on that ultra SECRET forum...you know what I'm talking about...

Back when I was a young whipper snapper I had applied at the local movie theatre for my first job ever. For whatever reason teenagers all saw movie theatre work as the must-have job of the summer and as such it was an extremely competitive and hard job to get. I was successful in getting the job. Was it because of my elite popcorning and nachoing skills? Perhaps. Or it may have had to do with the fact that the head manager only chose my name out of all the applicants because it is Michael Jackson. "Oh my god, this kid is Michael Jackson? We have to have him working for us!"

A couple years later I had applied at Toys R Us for work, having grown tired of shelling out overpriced buckets of grease. I filled out the application, waited about a week and heard nothing so I went to inquire about the status of application. Luckily, the first person I had spoke to about checking up on it was the hiring manager. She asked me my name, and I responded. Her eyes seemed to have widened up as she exclaimed "Are you serious? That was your application? I thought that was a joke." Yes, simply writing my name on the Toys R Us application was now considered a practical prank. Barbara the manager, had thought one of the other employees was merely goofing off and when she had seen my name on the paper she immediate crumpled the paper, threw it in the bin, and shrugged it off. Interesting. After explaining to her I was indeed real we shuffled off to her office and were actually able to find the balled up application. Needless to say I was awarded the job because of the hassle and worked there for several years afterwards.

So, for a bit of time there I could actually say "Hello, I am Michael Jackson. I have intimate knowledge in giving out sweets and snacks and soda pop. I work at Toys R Us and help out with the kids."

Yeah, all that's pretty true.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (Teen) "[This] is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) role-playing game set in the imaginary world of Azeroth. [...] Players can interact with scantily clad characters, listen to provocative dialogue (e.g., "Is that a mana wyrm in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"), or view sexually suggestive dance routines performed by elves and other player-characters." Yes, that is all that the game is purchased for.

You know, even though poker dessert is chocolate pie I just don't think it will have the same lasting effect as the dessert at the last poker night you had.

#163) Friday, December 12, 2008
I also notice some of the presents you are sending to the Zerg home planet. That's sweet, but will cost you in shipping fees.

#164) Wednesday, December 17, 2008
I, of course, took a screenshot of that wonderful misspelling for future reference.

I'd blame Ben. Wall-E was rated NC-17.

As a small child I used to think there were midgets inside stoplights contorling the colors with a flashlight. I imagined they were fed doughnuts through the wiring for sustenance.

This sounds like the background music for a Sonic the Hedgehog game on Sega Genesis.

Onion booty.com? I'm a subscriber for sure.

I just know there's a joke to be made in there involving cows, cakes/pies, and poo but it just doesn't seem possible.

I'm so envious that you have the ability to work at home. I started my new job last week and absolutely no one is allowed to be off on the 20th. It's going to be utter chaos, and then I imagine you at home drinking a Guiness (I like to imagine you as a morning drunk) and feeding your cats while in slippers whilst ignoring the worries of the rest of the world.

#176) Monday, January 12, 2009
Chocolate ice cream is gross. That's not a joke or anything, I'm just not a fan of all the chocolate. TOO MUCH!

There seems to be some sort of simian (possibly baboon?) on your head. I find that amusing!

Did you know it is a scientifically proven fact that snow is evil? The 'benefits' of snow in no way, shape, or form can even compare to the offsetting negative effects it has on the world.

And sea kitten sounds delicious. It sounds like a sweeter, milder tasting type of catfish.

#188) Thursday, January 29, 2009
One thing I really liked about WotLK was the understandable meshing of the environments compared to BC. WotLK terrain is all based on tundra/ice/forest habitats, so it all very easily goes together when transitioning from one zone to another. But in BC? You go from orange rock desert terrain straight into a Dagobah swamp. And to the north of Zangarmarsh is porcupine mountain, and to the south is the twilight forest. Maybe the abrupt changes of environment can be blamed on the fact that Draenor also happened to have exploded (but survived) during the closing of the 'dimensional' portals. Brings me to another issue that WoW really lost some of the fantasy settings when you find out Draenei can travel the stars in spaceships and just flew to Azeroth, so the Orcs/Ogres who came there through a portal are really just space aliens.

Memory - I was born into a military family and we moved around a lot. I used to live in San Diego in a neighborhood in a cliff side area that could overlook the Pacific Ocean. There was a kid my age (5-6) that I used to play with from time to time in the neighborhood. The very last afternoon I was in San Diego and my parents were loading up the van I was off wandering around the area looking at things before I had to leave. Right on the edge of one of the cliffs, one that had about a 100 ft fall, I saw the kid (forget his name) whom I always played with. He was squatting down, facing the ocean with his back turned and didn't notice me. Now, I don't really know why I did it, but I snuck up on him and pushed the kid over the edge before he had a realization of what was happening. It seemed to be just a spontaneous reaction, something a lot of kids just do for no reason other than to test boundaries and limits. I then proceeded to run back home without turning around to see what came of that action. I never found out what happened to him as we were on our way to a different state an hour later. -- Actually, this isn't my memory, it belongs to someone else I know. When he first posted about it it really sent shivers up my spine to think that any kid could do that. Grim!

Ella Pictures is a mislabeling. All of ONE Ella picture can be viewed. She's huge now, practically as tall as her mother almost kinda.

Boomerang-fish, get you're boomerang-fish! You throw the fish away and it comes back!

There's a new kid in town. Ella needs to stake her claims before things get out of hand. Modifying my name slightly since Jaood has pretty much died off.

I bet instead of saying "popped out a baby" Brian would just try to be clever and replace a 'p' with an extra 'o'.

#2 - Is that a "revised" version of the song? Sounds like a much older Paul McCartney singing.

#205) Wednesday, March 11, 2009
I really enjoyed Pineapple Express. Seth Rogen is probably going to be in about 20 other movies this year alone. He is like the white comedic version of Samuel L. Jackson.

2 pm and no pictures? Hyakku!

1) Freddie Krueger shirt is fun. 2) That mount doesn't look elite enough. 3) Those $1 pizzas saved my life in college.

So what's your secret to making daily posts? I have no freaking idea how to organize my thoughts enough to make good, readable posts. Do you plan this stuff out a week ahead or something? Doing posts like this for me would take an hour to work on at least.

#209) Tuesday, March 17, 2009
As a person who holds an undergraduate degree in Biology conferred to him by the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University I must agree with your assessment that the word 'reptant' is related to that of the zoological Class Reptilia, commonly known as reptiles. I am a scientist, thus I must make anything I say related to science stuff sound totally scientifical. Any musical comments I may have will just be in the form of /agreed and/or Agreed.

#210) Wednesday, March 18, 2009
One of the first PC games I ever had as a kid was Super Solver's Treasure Mountain. You were some sort of adventurer trekking the spiral path up a mountain, jumping over holes, walking across bridges and capturing elves using your bug catcher. To get treasure you needed to answer the elves questions correctly once you captured them which were based on the subjects math, history, science and english I believe. It was that and Wolfenstein 3-D, also a type of treasure collecting games. Except instead of capturing elves and solving problems you were stabbing and shooting nazis. Fun times. Wanted to play Doom for so long when we first had a computer but sadly our machine didn't have the necessary 2 MB RAM needed.

Joust is one of those classic Atari games from way back. Who wouldn't want to adourn themselves in knight's armor and a lance while riding a flying ostrich? http://www.appolo.com/favorite/joustposter2.jpg

So is the text-only softcore porn game basically an early Choose Your Own Adventure eBook?

#213) Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Science joke in honor of science teacher. Atom A and B are walking down the street. Atom B suddenly stops. A: What's wrong, why did you stop? B: I think I dropped an electron. A: Are you sure? B: Yeah, I'm positive.

I half expected a redirect to a separate page of some kind. Maybe a "The Urizone has been discontinued due to the economy and rejection of bailout money" or a "Rebecca and I eloped over the weekend and now live in Uganda" page would have been interesting reading.

#221) Friday, April 03, 2009
I can't get the songs from that one album you reviewed, Trick to Life by The Hoosiers, out of my head. Any other high quality A ranked reviewed albums (maybe in the jazz genre) you could recommend?

#222) Monday, April 06, 2009
Today is probably the first day ever I've woken up earlier than you and written an update.

#223) Wednesday, April 08, 2009
Way back in the hayday of WoW exploring, where Dire Maul was still considered an end game instance, lvl 60 were king, and elite mounts were but a dream, there lived a group of adventures trying there hand at Scarlet Monastery. Of the 5 only a couple had done this part of the instance, involving the Scarlet Commander Mograine and his hidden resurrection hoe. The group was warned beforehand that the area must be cleared of enemies before fighting Mograine. This was interpreted as the immediate area around Mograine, not including both side halls and any hidden stragglers in the church. Needless to say our hunter felt we had cleared enough enemies so an arrow was notched, and the oaken branch of war flew threw the air. The entire church was not to thrilled about this declaration of war, and from all sectors of the church sprang forth 5, 10, 15...A MILLION elite church monks and priests descended on us to aid in Mograines fight. It was a lesson well learned, as the adventures were crucified on the steps of that cathedral by the non-stop pounding of the holy justice of a thousand fights and Mograines mace.

#224) Wednesday, April 08, 2009
This of course gave us migraines having to clear the entire church, so we drowned our sorrows in grain brewed [Flagon of Mead].

#225) Friday, April 10, 2009
I think I'm guilty of inflating Mike's numbers. I tend to just always have a urizone tab open, and when I check Mike's site I just click on link instead of leaving a tab open to refresh. Sweet, I also have 9 clicks! Hopefully they are all unique IPs, else they were all probably me checking my own site trying to remember what I wrote.

#226) Monday, April 13, 2009
Making me hungry. I wish I could go home right now and eat some of the honey glazed ham we had yesterday.

#227) Monday, April 20, 2009
I barely remember the birthdays of my immediate family, let alone 361 other people. That's ridonkulous!

#228) Monday, April 20, 2009
I don't normally wish people happy birthday on facebook anymore because the notifications are practically hidden.

#229) Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Ahh, you went with Keith's? I remember using them, and I actually got Keith as my instructor.

#230) Thursday, April 23, 2009
It doesn't matter, because there are babies everywhere!

#231) Friday, May 01, 2009
Hands down the least updated week in Urizone history which BU actually attempted to do and did not just skip because he had no shoes. The amount of content this week rivals my own sites level of content!

#234) Thursday, May 07, 2009
It must be code for 'bacon', since that is the only meat qualified as best.

#235) Tuesday, May 12, 2009
Ack, I should've known, lass. This blade is cursed! Time for you to supposedly kill me, only for me to come back years from now as the ruler of the ice dwarves.

#236) Thursday, May 14, 2009
Better start spamming.

#237) Wednesday, May 20, 2009
That murder story is so half-baked.

#238) Tuesday, May 26, 2009
Well, you obviously need to read her entire post. "...and got a little engraved heart-shaped box." That's just awesome by itself! I remember I had a perfect record a few years as a kid and the only thing I got was laughed at.

#239) Wednesday, May 27, 2009
I'm assuming for me that reading this is what it would feel like to Rebecca if she were to read an entire post about WoW. Music posts, how I ponder you and what you're made of!

#240) Thursday, May 28, 2009
Remember the 28/29 intersection? Ugh.

#241) Friday, May 29, 2009
Re-title that one book "How to Creep in Plain Sight of My Future Wife". The time draws near. Soon Rebrian will be a legally recognized union.

Your cat's so fat, she rolled over a lab puppy and turned it into a pug. I don't understand. Are you trying to say that cat fat is magical and creates miracles?

#244) Tuesday, June 09, 2009
I approve of rejected idea #7.

#245) Friday, June 12, 2009
In regards to picture #pizza, I find Totino's pizza get way to crispy underneath. They have a flaky, thin crust going for them when they cook. I recently discovered the joy of Celeste pizza and hey are ever so good. Same single severing round shaped type, maybe 20 cents more in cost, but the flavor to the crust is just great.

#246) Monday, June 15, 2009

#250) Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Most excellent news. This week in June is just birthday hectic.

#251) Wednesday, June 24, 2009
I see what you did there. Cute montage. Top row, 2nd from left pic = Beaker. Bottom left pic is best, who doesn't love snow owl? Top row, 2nd from right I just see an image of Ben.

#252) Wednesday, June 24, 2009
oh my god adorable. she's even cuter than a puppy pug (which is ultra cute)

#253) Tuesday, June 30, 2009
I am so jealous. Is this what summer is like? Man, it must be fun to hang out at a pool as opposed to sitting here at my desk at work looking at pictures of hanging out at the pool. Lucky! Oh, I guess I should eventually RSVP to that wedding thing of yours.

It looks more like the lamb is on the Ellen (LAUGH OUT LOUD)! I hope there are enough people for poker tomorrow as I have a SURPRISE gift to bring.

#267) Friday, August 14, 2009
I see no difference. *puts on bhuddist monk outfit*

#268) Tuesday, August 18, 2009

#269) Wednesday, August 26, 2009
Somewhere in the distance Mike Catania is clearing out his Google search bar entries.

#270) Thursday, August 27, 2009
I'm the other Mike, and since I made my appearance 2nd I am the default evil one. I am one of the few people Brian knows firstly from the internet. I expect to have my own place within the next 2 months, possibly moving to the Alexandria area. I help save the DC government millions of dollars by showing it's 911 employees how to turn computers on. I expect October to big a pretty interesting month as it features a wedding of this guy I know and a kendo tournament, the sport/martial arts of which I have a passion for.

#271) Wednesday, September 02, 2009
When I saw the papers fly I thought for a second there the whole thing was about to stop.

#272) Thursday, September 03, 2009
I shall now use the one ability I possess that you lack - the portals were actually blue and ORANGE! Did I just blow your mind? Maybe I've left a color-coded message here that you can't read~

#273) Friday, September 04, 2009
Chicken on a stick should always be an option at Chinese restaurants.

#274) Tuesday, September 08, 2009
The hand of evolution does some devilishly large damage.

#275) Wednesday, September 09, 2009
What's the 15th of September highlighted for?

#276) Friday, September 11, 2009
The 2nd picture is like something out of a Quentin Tarantino movie. A bouquet of flowers, or a cleverly concealed sawed-off shotgun to be used in a mad "everyone in this room will be dead" shoot out scene?

#277) Monday, September 14, 2009
You shouldn't be wearing that shirt for another few days.

#278) Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Happy Birthday! This is a milestone since this one if divisible by 10!

#279) Thursday, September 17, 2009
No comments about the gravity gun? I remember that was all people could talk about when it first came out, and they would spend tons of time throwing enemies around like rag dolls.

#280) Monday, September 21, 2009
Sounds like good times. Take it all in, Brian. Less than two weeks left!

#281) Wednesday, September 23, 2009
"happy meal worms." omg...

#282) Thursday, September 24, 2009
Why can't every day be Review Day?

#283) Thursday, September 24, 2009
Here's the full interview video of the 3rd article. Reading it is one thing, but SEEING the type of person that mayor is really scares you in thinking that she was actually elected into office. It's a must see video. [link]

#286) Thursday, October 01, 2009
I'm sorry, I'm just overly excited about Saturday!

#287) Thursday, October 01, 2009
Also, it would be great to one day see you go out and review things you KNOW are going to be terrible just so you can post a review day full of Ds/Fs.

Still eagerly awaiting the standard "Brian digs a hole at the beach" photo.

#292) Wednesday, November 04, 2009
I love the naming scheme of all the beaches: Hanalei, Anini, Kiahuna, Kekaha, Waipouli, Hanakapi'ai.....and Donkey.

If these Muesdays were RPG backgrounds... Adulterous - I've just entered the 'Spanish' themed village. The bulls are running wild and I must corral them up before the village's fiesta event can occur. Supernatant - I'm in a haunted forest. There is a slight fog/mist about and little ghost eyes keep appearing among the trees. Coquettish - The party has finally made it to Casino Town! Time to gamble away our hard earned gold before confronting the gambling mob boss who "never losses". Luckily we have a special quest item, Double-sided Coin. Contumelious - It looks like that one temporary party member whose name you could never change turned out to be a double agent boss. How do you know he's a boss? Simply because he is now taking on your entire party alone, his stats have somehow quadrupled, and this specific boss music is playing! Bellicose - Your main character has been somehow been teleported alone to the lab of a crazy inventor. What the heck are all these contraptions? It looks like the entire lab is self-sufficient with man made robots, thingamabobs, and whatchamacallits.

#300) Thursday, December 03, 2009

Snow ruins everything.

I find it crazy scary how you can tell exactly who is searching for specific things on your site. Very glad I have kept my searches PG.

#309) Monday, December 28, 2009
Also, I am fond of the new labels on the site. Makes the dates look branded into the site somehow. They scream out "This is the date whether you like it or not and it shall always be thus". So official!

#310) Wednesday, January 06, 2010
Welcome back.

#311) Thursday, January 07, 2010
Pixar just never seems to disappoint. The dog, Doug? Brilliant! "My name is Doug. I have just met you and I love you." "My master made this collar so that may SQUIRREL.....Hi there." Looking forward to Toy Story 3.

#312) Friday, January 08, 2010
How would you compare Yoshi's Island DS to the original SNES Yoshi's Island (if you played it)? I really enjoyed playing the SNES version and wouldn't mind trying out a handheld revision. Although I still have 4 other DS games I haven't beaten yet, and this new Castlevania is HARD, so I shouldn't be worrying about new games to get.

#313) Tuesday, January 12, 2010
The final year of 12 of 12? Moving onto 13 of 13?

#314) Thursday, January 21, 2010
Clips like the one you linked are why I can make posts about birds being funny things. Regular thieves they are! Also, you missed out on some poker tonight. Played Florida rules of time based blinds, 25 and 100 chips, with optional rebuy/addin up until the 4th/5th round I believe. I would have more to say about it but the night was a wash as I only took 4th out of 8.

#315) Friday, January 22, 2010
Playing M&L:Partners in Time now. Beginning is repetitively boring being shown how to do the same move over and over just with a different character (X vs Y vs B vs A is a tricky concept). It's quickly picking up pass now that I have babies, though. "What's this item? It looks totally trashable, but then again it could be INVALUABLE. Let's keep it."

#316) Thursday, January 21, 2010
It's good, but Dumb and Dumber is still king in my book.

#317) Friday, January 22, 2010
So I was reading your comments about FGM holiday parties and that just got me thinking "I need to see what sort of Advanced War games are out for DS since I really enjoyed AW2 on GBA."

#318) Monday, January 25, 2010
iPods are so nice, I take mine with me everywhere I go. I have a classic iPod now with an absurd 120gb space, even though I maybe have only 30gb of music, and it's nice being able to plug it into my computer at work to listen to music. When starting a sentence with iPod are you supposed to capitalize the 'i'?

#319) Tuesday, January 26, 2010
This could easily be some sort of Donkey Kong background mini-game music of some kind. Gorillas wearing ties swinging through the jungle are amusing.

#320) Thursday, January 28, 2010
Hmmm, this Star Trek is really more enjoyable for those who follow the series. There are a bunch of inside jokes and comparisons that could be made that are easily missed if you didn't realize what they were. During the other movies and series the characters always comment on their past and it's like just finding nice easter eggs whenever you see it in the movie.

#321) Friday, January 29, 2010
You really are getting your use out of that Wacom.

I think I shall go out and buy some crayons.

#324) Friday, February 05, 2010
2nd story link makes me very sad and annoyed to think that people would do something like that to themselves. Just be happy with how you look, don't try to be someone else maybe?

So the truth is out - Rebecca is really a Woodland Elf with her Legolas-like ability to stand atop the snow.

"hubbubbery" Word of the day. And that article about schools spying through the webcams? That's terrifying.

Every time you guys posts pictures about cool vacation photos and beaches in some far off place I have to convince myself I hate being out doing stuff and that I'd much rather be here at the office.

#343) Friday, April 16, 2010
I believe this will be the last year they hold any kind of ceremonies/vigils anymore on campus about 4/16 and the school will just be moving on. Most of the people who were there when it happened have graduated or are graduating, so after that it just becomes sort of weird for newer people remembering what they never really experienced.

It is ridiculous how many Korean restaurants are in Annandale. That is one of my key reasons for looking to relocate possibly there.

#347) Wednesday, April 28, 2010
This is my kind of update, but I'm sure you already knew that. One overlooked NES game that I think you might like would be the puzzle game Adventures of Lolo. So good!

#348) Wednesday, April 28, 2010
And I swear I do not see this alligator at all. All I see is an upside down Imp.

#349) Friday, April 30, 2010
If you select a Terran infantry unit and do the /dance command they should all have their own dancing model. And now that I think about it the Thor may or may not have one. Can't remember if I was joking or not about that with someone else awhile ago, but it might do the robot.

#350) Friday, April 30, 2010
Awww, just noticed you're using a recycled pre-beta photo and not one from a game you've played. Medics in SC2? HOGWASH

#351) Monday, May 03, 2010
Looks like after I move in to my new place my life is over. AlexYoshi says to expect my WoW Cataclysm beta key in 1-2 weeks :(

#354) Friday, May 07, 2010
If your printer is getting old as well you should look into getting maybe an HP All-In-One type model which prints/scans/copies. I only use mine for the scanning/printing parts but still saves me desk space and works pretty well.

#355) Monday, May 10, 2010
Oi, if you noticed an odd new IP appear that seemed to be checking out your site today that was just me. Set my old computer up at new place and noticed a neighbor of mine seems to be content on having unsecure wireless internet access so I naturally helped myself to their series of tubes.

#356) Tuesday, June 01, 2010
It will be only a matter of time before she steals your identity and maxes out your credit cards on canned tuna.

#357) Thursday, June 03, 2010
For no particular reason your update has inspired me to turn my life around.

#358) Thursday, June 10, 2010
Interesting stuff. I have MG1 at home and have yet to play it or any of the other games I've purchased for the system. I was actually reading an old article this morning about the 7 Video Game Commandments and thought it was great. You should check it out and see if you agree with it: [click here] Also, lava is hilarious. It really gets the adrenaline pumping, especially when you can use the extra "bounces" as a means of travel. You should be glad it doesn't take on the aspect of real lava!

#367) Wednesday, July 21, 2010
Welcome back.

#368) Monday, August 09, 2010
Oh, man, sounds like I missed out on a fun big poker game. I think the next time I'll ever see any of the kids they will be ready to take their SATs. My own home is physically ready for moving into, albeit without internet access. Once I have that setup then no more bad, shoddy wireless for me and Starcraft 2 multiplayer will be a smooth reality instead of normal choppiness.

#369) Wednesday, August 11, 2010
I've actually known BU longer than he realizes, as evident by the last photo.

#370) Tuesday, August 17, 2010
What a peculiar map riddled with random LOTR references.

#371) Thursday, August 05, 2010
1) Who are you? I'm the 2nd Mike, and therefore I am the evil one. 2) How do you know me? From battlereports fame and Warcraft 3. 3) How and when did you find this site? Found this site a couple years before ever meeting Brian since it was linked on another site. 4) Where is your website? It be right here. 5) What would you like to say to the rest of us? /wave You wave.

#372) Wednesday, August 18, 2010
I wish I could take a sick day. Within the last 2 months I've missed out on nearly 130 work hours. Had to get internet/TV setup so instead of calling out sick and angering the higher ups I'm sitting here at work until midnight.

#373) Wednesday, August 18, 2010
Also, life must be really nice as a cat.

#374) Tuesday, August 24, 2010
Hmmm, I guess we never did play Starcraft together. I'm all setup at my new condo now (as in I have internet) so I don't lag every 3 seconds while playing SC2. Someone is getting reaper rushed!!!

Poll Addition: Option #5 - Booty has already gotten into the food.

#376) Wednesday, September 01, 2010
The Hoosiers latest album is out, The Illusion of Safety. It's as if the band decided to go back in time 25 years and suddenly discovered the sound of the 80s and went with it on just about every song.

#377) Tuesday, September 07, 2010
1) The type of toothbrush you wanted only came in a double-pack, but that's OK since you're married. 2) Accidentally hitting the wall with the end of toothbrush after brushing. 3) Colgate MaxFresh with Breath Strips. 4) It leaves you with a better taste in your mouth after brushing.

#378) Friday, September 10, 2010
Hey, funny thing. I was watching our first game rep and you were wrong. You're second gateway DID turn into a warpgate, just when I attacked your base you somehow hotkeyed it back into a gateway while the other made a stalker.

#379) Friday, September 10, 2010
At least I thought it was funny!

#380) Tuesday, September 14, 2010
Brian, get down from there. That's dangerous!

#381) Tuesday, September 14, 2010
Why? Because the last 15 minute stretch of work can get very boring.

#382) Wednesday, September 15, 2010
Happy birthday.

#383) Thursday, September 16, 2010
Another bizarre thing Blizzard did was remove ANY LAN play capabilities, forcing you to play over the internet for any type of multiplayer interaction. This really ruins LAN tournaments/parties. With so many mistakes Blizzard has made with Battle.net 2.0 it feels as if you're watching some bad 80s sci-fi movie, where the supposedly new and improved Robo-2.0-X should outperform the protagonist prototype Robo-1.0 in everyway. Oh, except just one catch, Robo-2.0-X has a bug that causes it to be evil and start killing people and it makes you wish the original version was still around because it functioned in the way that was good for you (didn't kill your friends). Anyway, we should play some more! I want to try my hand more at Zerg. I still have yet to make a single baneling ever.

#384) Friday, September 24, 2010
What about the Futurama?

#385) Tuesday, September 28, 2010
I'm so glad that I was able to perceive both that this game would become addicting if I played and that I would have 0 talent for it. I've so far successfully resisted the desire to play it on the notion that I would make the most godawful boring shelters.

#386) Friday, October 01, 2010

You might be one of the few people I know who can appreciate this, but I'm playing through Smash Brothers Brawl subspace adventure mode thing and it is just obnoxiously long. Now that I have a Wii I'm trying to unlock all the characters this way and it's just mind numbing how boring and long this thing is (and that's with just trying to run to the exits and ignoring trophies). Fun little cutscenes, but if it weren't for the fact I want all the characters I would never play through this mode.

#391) Tuesday, October 19, 2010
This reminds me of Cait Sith's theme from Final Fantasy VII. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWu9iQLwrC8

-Anime is just awesome...I don't even know how else to describe it. It's more the story than anything else. A lot of people tend to lump it in together with 'kids shows' simply because it's cartoon but it really isn't. It's just a media that enables different types of stories (from the simplistic childlike to the dark, gritty adult themed) to exist. Maybe it's similar to asking how someone like X type of food? Don't write off the whole genre just because you don't like coconut shavings on your pizza (Coconut Shavings Girl is probably an anime)! -I love ten-foot ceilings. They are the best. So roomy, and I don't have to worry about hitting it when carry objects like stand-up lamps. -Serious poker players just seem to be able to get something out of poker histories. They can read certain patterns or whatever in a person's playstyle or look at a few hands and be able to sense a story emerging. I'm not a serious poker player so I'll read any histories but I understand why. -Avocados = guacomole. -Everybody Loves Raymond is just one of those where you can identify that it's a bad product but as long as there are people willing to buy into it then it will exist. It keeps the masses appeased!

I've got the flag and a clear path to base. Now I've just got to....%@#!

#397) Monday, December 06, 2010
Take a pair of ragged jeans (light blue) and just cut holes in the knees. Then patch up those holes with a patch made from a dark blue pair of jeans. Boom, instant 90s.

#398) Monday, December 06, 2010
Alternatively, leave the patch off the holes and let the fabric around the knees get shredded. Boom, back to the 80s.

#399) Thursday, December 09, 2010
List should also include any type of annoying Facebook status update/profile picture trend your friends all seem to participate in that you can't readily block.

#400) Monday, December 13, 2010
It's inevitable. Plinky/Planky/Plonky/Plunky/Plenky and sometimes Plynky will all be returning for new adventures in the beautifully destroyed world of WoW Cataclysm.

#403) Thursday, December 30, 2010
Yes, trying to get a new computer (if you care about specs) is a hassle now. Stuff is way too advanced and I can never have the best computer straight out of the box. What's more frustrating is also being told by people that it isn't even more cost effective to build you're own so now you've got to look at base models and what they offer in addition to looking at what parts you will supplement. Sometimes I really wish I was just the type of person who just did basic net surfing and Word documents so it really wouldn't matter how much HD space I had or what the speed of my video card.

#404) Tuesday, January 04, 2011

Enjoy that fresh computer feeling while you can.

Can working at home really be considered work?

#409) Monday, January 24, 2011
Here are a few Windows 7 tweak sites you should check out to make it more functional/desirable. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5160/the-20-best-windows-tweaks-that-still-work-in-windows-7/ http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5391/175-windows-7-tweaks-tips-and-how-to-articles/ Some of the things there may help with compatibility issues whereas others will improve the layout or give you some more options. At one point I had tweaked my first version of Win7 so much it looked exactly like a Win98 layout with XP functions.

Love the plaid.

#413) Thursday, March 17, 2011
Indeed! Office S1 mirrors too much the original Office, so some of that British humor still leaves an after taste. I think by the time S3 is over that the rest of the story, character plots, and development are mostly original and more tuned for American humor style.

Who will be the next celebrity to have a gigantic public meltdown? Why pick Alliance over Horde? Where is a good place to go for Korean BBQ? What would a combination of a pug, turtle and eagle look like? We all know BU, but when can we expect JU(nior)?

#416) Wednesday, April 20, 2011
Pretty much my opinion point for point. I'm still only on Chapter 3, I believe, so the only new physics mechanics I've seen are the laser (introduced super early I think) and the light bridges.

#417) Monday, May 09, 2011
When will Mike (of Mike & Chompy) update his website again with tales of adventure? If you had to rank them what would be your top 5 loved/favorite video games? How often do you rearrange your living room, and is it just to get a new vantage of things and keep thing fresh or because you think the setup works better?

#418) Tuesday, May 24, 2011
What sort of time warp have I entered? Tuesday's entry is already up on Sunday!

P.S. Looking good!

#420) Thursday, May 26, 2011
If you change your screen's resolution to a meager 640x480 you will never again have to worry about moving the mouse 800 pixels over in either direction!

#421) Thursday, May 26, 2011
But yes, ALL of these changes in FF4.0 I noticed myself on my work PC and I can't stand. Trying to reconfigure everything back to what you had previously (or a reasonable facsimile) is tedious/annoying. It also broke some of my previous add-ons. I have to either wait for those add-ons to be updated for the "latest and greatest" version of Firefox or try to download an old version. Updates to programs should never hinder my ability to use them or make me want to go back to older versions.

#422) Wednesday, June 01, 2011
Interesting. Another way to look at this information: PAC-MAN! Everything else that isn't Pac-Man is just Boring.

#423) Friday, June 03, 2011
Well, maybe you'll be sold instead on Windows 8. Personally, I think it looks obnoxious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p92QfWOw88I Ughhh, just not my type of OS.

1) First time I visited was around the futuristic year of 2001, the good ole days when gas was about a 1/3 of what it is now. 2) I am currently visiting from the computer in my bedroom in my condo in Alexandria, VA. 3) The URI! Zone has shown me the truth about blogging - it pwnz0rs. It has actually inspired me to create and blog my own thoughts and adventures on my own website, however little that happens. I do take time and try to think about the things I do say online because I realized when you advertise your website people will look at it, despite not leaving comments. I've slowly grown out of my childish internet teen/college youth phase and have made the transition into man-child adult phase of my life. Dumpling.

#433) Friday, September 30, 2011
What bank do you use, Brian?

#434) Monday, October 03, 2011
Man, how time flies. I still remember that ENGAGING poker night, and now it's anniversary #2? I need to catch up...

#435) Monday, October 03, 2011
And congrats~

#436) Friday, October 07, 2011
Yeah, it's time to get a new printer. I've got an HP Deskjet F380 (printer/copier/scanner) and it uses HP 21 ink catridges. The printer itself cost me about $70 when I got it a few years back whereas the ink is maybe about $20 I think. Thankfully, HP 21 catridges are used by a ton of printers so it'll be a long time before they become rarities that start costing as much as a new printer.

Is this just a coincidence that I am currently watching GATTACA?

#439) Tuesday, November 08, 2011
This piece seems like it would be background music for Super Metroid.

#440) Wednesday, November 09, 2011
That's a shame about TF2. When I first started playing it and before all the DLC crap made it annoying I had some great times, especially with the Demo and his mines of trickiness.

#441) Thursday, November 17, 2011
Absolutely random question: Will you be buying the new Zelda game, Skyward Sword, and getting some use out of your hibernating Wii? From what I hear it's supposed to be the absolute best Zelda game ever in all aspects and the use of the Wiimote Plus movement with character control is stellar. I forget how you feel about Zelda as a franchise.

#442) Thursday, November 17, 2011
"...and that's why the Search function was invented." -Wise Sage

#443) Thursday, November 17, 2011
Zelda - Minish Cap was really good for the GBA. Wind Waker I could not stand simply because of the boat travel. Twilight Princess is fun so far (I had the Wii version and IMMEDIATELY got rid of it for the Gamecube one). But yes, Link to the Past was really a masterpiece. My only qualm about it was Link's pink hair. And I still think you're crazy. TLoZ-OoT AND Mario 64 were both fantastical adventures into the realm of neverending pleasure!

#444) Tuesday, November 22, 2011
What sort of sound apps do you use with Win7? I found that even the simple Microsoft Sound Recorder has been rendered nearly useless compared to the older XP one.

#445) Thursday, December 29, 2011
Brian, there is a 91% chance that you should prepare for more of the same type annoyances from this sword fairy. There's a bunch of things I think that have changed about this Zelda that you're going to notice pretty soon. The game is just too overly helpful. They even have a tip rock creature that will give you hints on solving a puzzle, or just outright show you how it should be done. Don't even get me started on the repeat bug collecting messages, a la rupees. The game also takes on a WoW perspective later on. And unskippable, slow text is also a bane, especially on the bamboo slicing mini-game (you will see). But the controls feel really good to me, and the different ways you need to solve some of the puzzles and fight certain enemies really keeps me enticed. The weakness will be obvious sometimes, but the difficulty in carrying out the task of properly striking it is fun. Something about knowing what you need to do and then working your way toward it, until you are finally capable of doing it is rewarding. I think I shall play some more tonight.

I'm not sure which is worse: atrophy of brain cells from watching the ridiculous real life characters of the Bachelor, or atrophy of the brain cells by being forced to watch the ridiculous made-up characters in Star Wars Episode 1 by your girl.

How do you study for different types of certification? Is there a standard methodology you go by? Do you read books/material whenever you have a chance or do you set apart a pre-determined amount of time from the day? What do you listen to in order to relax? If you ever had a job you just didn't like and something happened there that just made you decide you were done would you quit then and there, or would you still put in your two weeks? Would not having another job lined up already affect this decision? If you did stay those last two weeks would they still be productive at all? Do you have any home-cooked meals that you prepare specifically for the Missus? How often are meals cooked at home? Are oven-cooked dishes considered home made meals? Your thoughts on the future of gaming for you. Will you continue to game? Do you have enough time to play what you might want to? How do you feel about PC vs console? Windows 8 beta will be out before we know it. What say you about this monstrosity?

#451) Thursday, February 02, 2012
You're right, I read the wiki on 999 and the story seems so convoluted and bloated and filled with unnecessary stuff, especially for a puzzle game. Who would really want to play a game based on taxes by a pizza guy?

My weekend was not as fun!

The Office has definitely jumped the shark long ago. If you don't like Andy antics then stay away from season 8. With him as the new branch manager it's basically the Andy show, and whatever ideas he comes up with (many involving guitar) will just make you want to stop watching it forever,

I'm giving people more leeway this year because it's an anniversary date divisible by 5. For some reason society always looks at those anniversaries as being somehow more important. 2017? Ok, 10 years. That's divisble by 5 AND 10. 2018? Who cares. They will need to stop doing the nightly memorials and such, though. Pretty much 95% of the people who were even there have already graduated, got jobs, gotten married, etc. It's weird because those people there who are still remembering are remembering what it was like watching the event on TV 5 years ago. But you're right, people do need to just move on. The only people I think who will/should always remember are the ones directly affected by it (lost a family member, or survived being shot). One guy I met was shot several times, in hospital for long time and now has permanent lisp and walking problems. It's ok for him to remember I think.

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion really brings a certain joyous vibe to the show. We started watching it about a month and a half ago, finished the first season in two weeks just in time for the 2nd season. Watching the newest episode has become the highlight of my Sunday, now.

#464) Thursday, May 17, 2012
It's all about Peter Dinklage (Tyrion). I am incredibly glad I never payed any attention to any previous posts about this series whenever new books came out. I don't know what is going to happen next (beyond the TV series) and I'm trying to keep everything spoiler free until I watch it or read the books. Of course, not wanting spoilers is making it incredibly hard for me to not look through the character wikis just to learn more about them lest I learn someone who I thought was a main character dies off randomly to a kick in the head from a wild billy goat.

Q#1: So, let's say you were about to take a polygraph test which was part of a year long venture in obtaining a secret security clearance and would, in all likelihood, have you starting a new job within the next month or two. Let's just say that. Assume you did that and then the people who sponsored you for your security clearance want to hire you for a new job. Cool beans, right? But now let's also just say that your current job just finished a whole training session for a vendor-neutral certified wireless network administration that you took part in. We're talking they paid for an instructor to come out and teach a bunch of you for a few days on this training, they paid for all the books/guides for the course, and they also paid for you to have a free test voucher. Very expensive stuff, and they want you to pass this test for them by the end of July. So in prep for that you created your own personal account on this vendors website, associated the voucher you got with your own account and are ready to start studying. Now the dilemma comes in: AFTER you went through all the training and claimed ownership of the test voucher that was paid for by your current job you THEN found out about the prospect of a new job potentially coming up. If the new job wanted you to start real soon, hypothetically, would it be wrong to take the cert test and then just put in your two weeks/month at the old job? Or would it be worse to not take the test at all while at current job and keep all the study material/voucher? Would there be/is there some sort of protocol that forces you to try to 'return' an unused voucher if it wasn't taken during your tenure at current job before leaving? Could an employer try to force you to payback something they felt was just being taken away from them, despite the voucher being associated with your own personal account? Should you just rush to take this cert before a new job starts and then just bounce? Q#2: Going to Virginia Beach soon. Any ideas of fun things to do? I will be digging a hole at one point so that's covered. Q#3: How are you?

#468) Thursday, June 21, 2012
Yes, going from a Tyrion chapter to a Sansa chapter evokes an immediate urge to stop reading altogether. I didn't really like the girl from the show at all but reading her thought processes and how she acts in the books just makes me groan even more.

I still hold that Skyward Sword is a great game (and Mario 64!) but it is what it is. I don't see any reason to buying the Wii U, either. Even if I had the time and money to invest in it I don't think I'd want to. I could easily get a more enjoyable time playing indie games on my PC for a fraction of a fraction of the cost of that console. Maybe I'll check out Super Meat Boy and see what the hub-bub was about.

Is this a single player story-based type of game, or is this multiplayer only similar to Counter-strike? Or is it more like Halo with the campaign mode and multi? I might check it out solely because RPG and WoW were referenced.

#487) Friday, January 18, 2013
At least with Clue it could have been anyone of the 100 different supposed endings they show that were spoiled, leaving plenty more reason to still watch. You've got to see them all.

#490) Thursday, March 21, 2013
Pretty accurate review, imo. The game does seem to lack that Starcraft 1 soul that was so endearing to us back in the 20th century. Graphics are amazing. I love having little cinemas all the time and watching the interactions/chats as if they were television. I think the storyline is stupid, but nice that it is somewhat based on things they referenced back in the secret mission in SC:BW. As for gameplay I can't tell how it's supposed to play or which units are the new ones available or just the special ones usable in campaign. Playing on normal I can basically beat every level with single unit army composition. Hardest part is trying to satisfy my OCDness of making sure I get Kerrigan all her bonus XP side quests now that SC2 is now basically like playing Warcraft 3. Almost finished with campaign, and then I think I might try multiplayer a bit just to see some of the changes to the races. After that it's replay watching of progamers and then I'll retire the game until I get nostalgic again, play it some, and remember why I stopped in the first place (no real time or desire to try to get good).

The Marie Callendar chicken pot pie has been a regular staple of my diet going on about 3 years now. I have 3 of them in my freezer right now. The 10oz ones, mind you. The 16oz version doesn't seem to cook the same (I use oven) so has a slightly less filling taste to it, I feel. Never had it microwaved before.

#500) Thursday, June 13, 2013
When it comes to frozen foods that have both options of microwave and oven prep do you always choose microwave? If so, is this because of the time convenience? I'm willing to bet that if these quesadillas had an oven bake option they would have come out much more appealling, maybe 'C' worthy! Actually, any food with options between the two I think tastes better in the oven~

I want to start a trend of mocking the term 'YOLO' [You Only Live Once]. Today's generation of youth will use that term as somewhat of an excuse to explain why they do the dumb, outlandish, and/or dangerous things they do (ex. "Oh, I guess I'll try some shrooms while trying to break into the zoo after hours. YOLO") and it saddens me. Request is to take that term, use it in photoshop and mock it in someway so that it loses it's 'power'! You only live once, so why not be safe and keep living? Here's my version of YOLOing: Adventure is different when you're married with responsibilities. And the Lonely Island song says it all. http://youtu.be/z5Otla5157c

Either the people who make this don't realize that everyone in the world knew how a telephone worked since they were a toddler OR it actually is being put to good use by informing someone out there who just didn't know what that machine was for. Either situation is sad.

#519) Friday, March 21, 2014
I only ever save up my gold for arena now. I can usually get at least 3-4 wins, and that nets me a desk and enough gold to almost repay entry fee (or buy a new deck). Plus, it's real interesting see how far you can go given the randomness of the cards you're dealt and the choices you make in selection.

#520) Friday, March 21, 2014
And I still submit that there needs to be a Speed Round mode where each player is only given 15 seconds to play. It helps with issues such as AFK and people who over think their TURN 1 options. I'm far too impatient and not the type of player who thinks about what the other opponent has, what cards they could possibly be playing based on mana next turn, best options, or what have you. I just know I have cards, I can do this, and then let it ride!

#521) Friday, March 21, 2014

#522) Monday, March 24, 2014

It's a shame, because I loved customizing my Wizard to be high Dex/Str with sword. Damned the actual usability of it, I had my very own Gandalf!

#524) Thursday, March 27, 2014
And I did purchase the game as well, but only clocked in maybe 2 hours worth just messing around with my Crusader. So many different changes, and going to take awhile to get to a level where I can get a good feel for it and how it differs from other classes (only lvl 8). Splitting my time between this and completing Hearthstone dailies is such a chore. Woe is me.

#525) Thursday, April 03, 2014
It is incredibly surreal seeing Jeff Daniels in this role when I always remembered him so much for his character in Dumb & Dumber. Such a wide range of character portrayal for the actor!

#529) Friday, April 18, 2014
Aughhh, the one day I forget to check your site is prime Hearthstone comment day... Ok! Here's some advice: When creating a deck look for cards that synergize well with other cards. Example would be Hunter's Release the Hounds (summons a 1v1 for every enemy unit on field). If you have a Starving Buzzard on the field and UtH gets played then you'll also be netting a card (and dog) for every enemy on the field. Or, why not have a Scavenging Hyena out? The hounds that get summoned have Charge, so the more you have charging recklessly into other minions, dying in the process, the more powerful your hyena becomes (potentially could be a 14/8 minion with right conditions being met all in one turn). Other possibilities remain even with just that one card. Unleash the Hounds/Knife Juggler combo? Timber Wolf can make those doggies 2x as powerful. A Cult Master also works well in that you get a card every time one of your units (doggie) dies. I actually try never to use UtH unless I have something that combos with it, otherwise it just summons a bunch of dinky 1/1 minions that most likely wouldn't be all that helpful.

#530) Tuesday, April 29, 2014

#531) Thursday, May 01, 2014
I'm about half-way through the new Hoosiers album. I usually need a few play backs of songs before I get a good feel for the whole thing. One good thing about Archer is that it's sense of humor remains steady throughout all it's current seasons, which on the flip side might not be a good thing if you don't like that type of humor. They do start to develop something of a story, tho.

#532) Friday, May 02, 2014
Druid with Coin + Innervate + Banana Stand x2 on first turn could lead to some fun results.

#533) Friday, May 02, 2014
And with a 2nd Innervate you could potentially be playing a 6 mana minion on turn 2!

#536) Wednesday, May 14, 2014
I miss it sometimes, too, but then I remember that the entire game is just so clogged with content that it would be such an overload to my brain that I couldn't stand it. Plus, I'd maybe have 1 hour of solid play time 2-3x a week at most normally. That does not equate to the necessary amount of WoW play time. Hell, I remember taking sometimes an hour on gathering quests, or attempting stupid escort quests, or spending 10 minutes flying to new waypoints, or just organizing items and calculating prices for AH shopping for waaaaay over an hour. Good times, but no longer!

#537) Tuesday, June 03, 2014
Map making was pretty fun, especially when it was in no way balanced or made sense. Jaood's Lost Temple still brings me smiles listening to the frustration of people as their hero died to randomly placed goblin land mines across the map.

omg I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching that DnD game. I've never played but I find enjoyment in watching/listening to others play if that makes any sense. I've listened to every podcast and watched every video of the guys at Penny Arcade webcomics playing DnD and it always amuses me.

#549) Tuesday, November 18, 2014
If anyone ever had anything bad to say about DnD just remind them that Vin Diesel is a serious lover of the game. It's the craziest thing, and to watch videos about him talking about DnD is so adorable because it seems out of place for his character but he's a true geek about it! http://youtu.be/71AzW9_p4Jg http://youtu.be/WL99gumGT-M http://youtu.be/36_-DauQi0s

Trying to figure a way to turn off golden portrait. It feels weird facing someone with my golden sparkly elite looking hunter...at rank 20. I feel like I'm expected to auto win because it's a symbol of how many ranked games I've succeeded at but in truth it's just that I've played a LOT of games with low win ratio and I was bound to get there some day.

Yep. I actually finished watching Birdman (last night actually, watching on and off) and I felt let down by the end. It just didn't feel like it was going anywhere or did much of anything. It wasn't bad, really, but it just didn't feel like much of anything while it tried to reach for certain emotions through different character perspectives and hang-ups. I'm trying to remember now what it beat for the Oscar. Would actually have preferred a superhero movie with actual Birdman (non-phantasmal delusion).

Next week new expansion. I am wondering what awful, easily abusive decks will appear? There is bound to be something that ruins the fun of the game like original Undertaker Hunter deathrattle deck.

Only 7 more classes to go!

#575) Friday, September 25, 2015
Half-life was definitely a fun game. I finally got around to playing it last year for the first time, and then played HL2 and it's expansions. Craving the next game in the series now. Work of art, though? Hmmm, it's definitely fun and I can see how it was view as a brilliant game when it first came out, but not too sure about it being art.

That bear kept occasionally giving me the evil eye the entire time and it was a bit unnerving. Lovely wedding, tho. A happy one to you guys!

#577) Monday, October 05, 2015
Ughh, I had a dream last night I was druid trapped in bear form in WoW. I got lost at one of these new Horde main cities as I hadn't played in years and didn't recognize the zone.

How long have you been using Windows 10? I would love to get comments/reviews of it from someone I know who has used it (no one afaik). Would especially love a comparison of it to Win 7/8.

What about mobile gaming apps? It's always nice have a little time killing game to play if you're ever sitting somewhere just waiting (like when getting car repaired), or using apps for utility purposes such as a banking app or Google maps.

Is sending a staged photo (that hints at possible pregnancy) to a relative who keeps tapping their foot awaiting the day to hear some kind of news too much for an April Fool's prank?

But, but...end of the month post should be coming on Monday!

#588) Thursday, March 03, 2016
No, it's not sacrilegious, Starcraft has been boring for a long time now. I've played through the majority of the game, beat the super evil villain guy at end of missions, got to the bonus storyline missions and just stopped. No inclination to play the last missions. I stopped caring about the gameplay, I stopped caring about the story, and stopped caring about the characters as well. Maybe I would have liked the game and all the flash and shine of everything when I was younger, but it just doesn't bring back the joy I felt when diving into SC/BW. I was more into the story, the gameplay felt better/less blotted, and it was just overall better. While playing SC2 I kept thinking of ways to SC/BW over again (can't find CDs).

#589) Thursday, March 10, 2016
Noooooo! I am trying so hard to avoid temptation of playing this game, but you are making it difficult.

#590) Tuesday, March 15, 2016
Of those things listed I have done: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 13, 18, and 19. Of the ones not listed some I would like to try (#5) and others I very much avoid (#17). I believe I did #11 inadvertently and immediately removed them when realizing what they were at the store.

#591) Friday, March 18, 2016
(The following in non-related to Urizone) I did something last night that I told myself I would not do ever again and that was to start up WoW again. Now before you shun me, I have perfectly good reason/explanation for this. As you may be aware there are HUGE changes coming to Hearthstone within the next few weeks. With the new patch that came out a couple days ago it mentioned if you level up a new WoW character to lvl 20 you get the new paladin hero (akin the the purchasable mage/hunter/warrior) in Hearthstone. It's all just aesthetics but it seemed like an easy little bonus to get. And I'm no fool. I'm not paying for a new $15 one-month use WoW subscription just to lvl a character to 20 in a day and then waste the rest of the month (especially when purchasing previous heroes only cost $10), no no no. I'm just doing the basic free starter edition that Wow offers which only lets me get to lvl 20 anyway. That's perfectly fine. Started this whole process last night and it was a 24+ GB download of the client. The game was technically letting me play after a couple GB were downloaded but it did not load properly, so waited until this morning to try again and I must say things are different.... My last entry in WoW stated I was last online sometime June of 2011 (do not recall, maybe this was my account being hacked?) so in almost 5 years even in just the starter zone I felt like I was playing a new game. Just doing a basic Troll mage named Grlkjhoysfg and WoW holds your hand for EVERYTHING. Maps point to where you need to go, areas where you're certain mobs are in are highlighted, spells get learned automatically, and it's just not the same. I remember the days of venturing for hours trying to figure out where my prey was or what I'm supposed to do next, but now it's paint by numbers. Granted, I've only played for about 10 minutes (lvl 4) before I had to leave for work this morning so I don't know what else I'll find new and old. It's still the same game of gather X number of crab meats, go to this person for next quest, so I don't plan on continuing after I get my hero. I will update more after this weekend.

#592) Friday, March 18, 2016
And I explained the concept of playing one game to a certain level so that I could unlock a special character feature in another game and Taje just laughed at me and sorta patted my shoulder...

#593) Friday, March 18, 2016
Update: Well, that's done. Knowing that my only goal was to get to lvl 20 allowed me to not worry about secondary things like professions, first-aid, gathering, using auction house, etc. Despite that I still instinctively checked and looted every downed mob for junk and made sure to sell for optimized amount of money intake even though I never spent a single copper piece. So many things changed since I last played. I remember bothering to lvl up my weapon skill by hitting enemies instead of using spells, and things like looking for trainers to actually learn new spells but all of that is gone! Ogrimmar is scary looking, the Barrens have been torn up, there are way more goblins around, more ways to travel...game is just so bloated and overloaded now. I remember playing WoW BETA on Bob the Newt's account and it was all about exploration of the empty, vast lands. Now the highlighting of area maps makes it even pointless reading quest descriptions. Just go to blue portion and you will find quest objective. Some things are still the same. The escort quest where the person you need to escort/accept quest from gets camped by a a million people for a free-for-all on who can get to them when they do spawn after waiting 5+ minutes. Same thing with "Kill X boss person." quests. That normally wouldn't be a problem as you would just invite everyone into a party so you can all get it done together, but what I've noticed is that in the start zones there was a huge influx of new players. The reason is obviously they, like myself, are hearthstoners just trying to lvl up aa 20 char so they can get free paladin hero portrait. Best way to do that is the starter edition of WoW which limits your capabilities such as NO PARTY INVITE. To sum it all up it was a tedious hassle and I quit the second my troll mage Turtlewood got to 20. It was fun to satisfy the brief urges of nostalgia, but they quickly faded around lvl 8. Can't believe I spent so many years playing and I don't see how some people can keep it up anymore. No longer my type of game.

What are the specs on your PC, and how well does Doom run? I'm hearing certain good things about it, but unfortunately I don't think my system could handle it. Just got a replacement video card on Saturday and my machine is finally back up and running. Majority of last week video card making unbelievably loud noise and machine not usable. Fixed it but now regretting that I did not actually get an upgrade instead of same model card given that Overwatch AND Doom are out.

#598) Friday, May 20, 2016
I'm pumped and at the same time torn between devoting game time to this or Doom 4. I'm very familiar with the colorful, fun play style of Blizzard games and this seems right up my alley. It seems akin to TF2 and that game was great (until all the purchasable items ruined it). However, from what I hear, Doom 4 (Doom 2016) has a great single-player campaign. I LOVED Doom1/2 single-player campaign and was distraught by Doom3's, so this seems like what I need to get back in that demonic world. From what other reviews are saying I guess multiplayer Doom 4 isn't all it's cracked up to be but that's fine by me as I have no interest in it at all. I wonder how much time I could actually give to play both games? I guess I need another new video card for Doom 4, so maybe I'll stick with just Overwatch for a bit.

Going to make the most of these next two months before I upgrade my desktop from 7 to 10. Solely doing it to take advantage of the free upgrade option that ends at the end of July. I know I'll have to upgrade at one point (forced or otherwise), so I might as well get it for free. New laptop came with it already installed and I feel so confused exploring this strange land of 10.

I am ever so slowly playing more and more. I have yet to play all the characters, but I already feel like I have a connection with Bastion and his annoying ability of hunkering down in one spot and just mowing people down from afar. So many different characters and ways to play!

#603) Monday, June 13, 2016
Overwatching in the nude is the best way to Overwatch. I'm almost to the point of having tried out all characters, but I kept going back to certain ones (Junkrat, Lucio).

#604) Thursday, June 30, 2016
127, whaaaat? God, I have not even gotten past lvl 12. Now that I have a bunch of new games (Overwatch, Doom, and Undertale) I sit around not playing them. Bad habit.

#614) Wednesday, October 12, 2016
I'm annoyed with Overwatch at the moment. The first night of the new patch I tried playing the Halloween brawl. Waited for a game for 20+ minutes before I got tired of looking through all character emotes/costumes and quit. Played some yesterday and caved in and purchased 50 loot boxes. Super pumped when I got the Reaper pumpkin head skin on box #3, then again...then again....and a fourth time. Each duplicate skin only got me 200gold. What are the odds of getting that same skin x4?? Twice Ok, thrice stunned silence, but x4 was just facepalm upset. At least give me 300+gold for dups, Blizzard!

#615) Wednesday, October 12, 2016
With the leftover gold I had enough to purchase the Dr Junkratenstein skin (awesome but expensive at 3k). One of the free skins I got from my loot was the very lackluster Gravestone Bastion. It was basically just a gray colored Bastion with cracks in it (and a raven). Wish I had gotten Junkrat's free, instead. Other Halloween skins I got from loot boxes were Ana, Mercy, Pharah and Zenyatta.

#616) Friday, October 28, 2016
Ok, totally nothing to do with your post today, but check out this video, particularly the section starting at 4m55s. That is almost EXACTLY what happened to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OGgTUL-65w

#617) Wednesday, November 02, 2016
I was surprised to see the amount of gameplay you've put in as Roadhog. Did not expect him to be your main! I'll have to check out my times later, but I'm pretty certain Junkrat/Winston are my top 2 with maybe Lucio or Reaper coming in 3rd. For your clips are you using a particular program to continually record gameplay, or is there some sort of Overwatch feature that lets you save Play of the Games?

#618) Wednesday, November 02, 2016
I will definitely take a look at that. I think I will also decide to actually try out some of the other characters because maybe a 1/4th of the characters I have NEVER played in a match. Oh, and all I can say about that PotG with Mercy? HACK

BTW, it is an honor to be nominated as a namesake (even if only to be rejected outright)!.

#627) Wednesday, February 22, 2017
Boy, but in this day and age it feels so wrong to put labels on things! Will there be a reveal party or maybe just a side blurb in comments? Or will people be forced to buy gender non-specific baby shower type gifts and find out on the actual birth day?

#631) Friday, March 10, 2017
Haha, without the monitor display in the background (and reference of what it was about) the video would be very strange thing. What if they had a way of configuring a VR version of Overwatch? I think I would just be Winston/Pharah and just fly around, ignoring any objectives.

#632) Wednesday, March 22, 2017
Has it really been more than 10 years since Ella??

#635) Monday, April 10, 2017
They are coming.

#636) Wednesday, April 12, 2017
So yeah, venting here. Sometimes I can't stand other people who have no idea what they are doing. Specifically in the new Overwatch Uprising adventure.
  • There are objectives. If everyone decides to leave the hackspot and fight robots elsewhere the progress STOPS. Why are you even venturing away from objective? Robots will come to you!
  • When I am Mercy do not expect me to leave the team/objective to follow you halfway across the map for heals. I will leave you to die.
  • The All Heroes version does not mean it's a good idea to pick ANY hero! One composition we had was Mercy (me), Genji, Junkrat, and Pharah. No tanks, no defense, no solid shooters. Pharah flying all over the place making it hard to heal her, Genji charging head first into giant armies only to die immediately, Junkrat doing minimal damage and needing heals asap....I just left.
  • Another game I left because two guys picked Hanzo and Widowmaker (snipers) and third was Lucio. I told them those were terrible picks for this style game mode and one guy's response was to just make up for it with better gameplay on my end...with my prepicked Mercy.
  • If you do play All Heroes just swap out Tracer for Bastion and leave the others.
  • Read objective (and chat). When objective says "All 4 must stand in the area to proceed." and only 3 are there do not run around looking for minions to shoot, confounded why you aren't seeing any.
  • Hold down the spacebar, no one cares about the cutscene intro.
  • Stay together.
I played enough of those games to get all loot boxes for the week. Done with it now, no desire to try to complete harder levels. I'd have to have competent teammates and the struggle is deep with little payoff.

#637) Friday, April 14, 2017
Feeling prepped for the arrival of little Uri? Anything least/most looking forward to? Do you have any idea how to play sniper heroes? I see videos and try to replicate, but I can't snipe. Looking forward to any upcoming movies? Politics...what's up with that? I just...

I logged on yesterday to check out the anniversary event and to peruse the new skins/sounds. I must have Genji and Lucio skin. I just want to run around map displaying them to people without a care for the actual objective. Those skins just scream "Look at me!"

#642) Wednesday, May 24, 2017
And it's going to take me a bit of time to catch up to you. I'm only at 17~ hours played -____-

#643) Wednesday, May 24, 2017
Literally. The skin is called "Sentai" and "Super Sentai" is the collective name for all the Power Ranger groups in Japan. Odd that some of the dance emotes have actual dance names, whereas others are just called Dance.

Good, responsible parenting". Soon!

From what I've seen, it is apparently quite common to continue using "# months" for age identification until easily 2 years. I think that will be the cut off for me whenever I have a kid. I would feel too snobbish, otherwise, telling people "Yes, little Jackson is 29 months old" and expecting people to mentally convert that into years.

#671) Friday, January 05, 2018
Oh, and how are you enjoying Zelda? What other games are you playing? I was given a surprise Switch for Christmas and have enjoyed some time with both Mario Odyssey/Kart, Arms, and Snipperclips. I have Zelda, but refuse to play it until I beat some older ones.

#672) Monday, January 15, 2018
Hohoho, not a Brian game it seems! Guess this experience will help you appreciate the pending new Jan update for Overwatch.

#673) Friday, February 09, 2018
The Mario games I seem to enjoy (64, Odyssey) you do not. The ones you praise (Sunshine) I just can't get into.

#674) Monday, February 26, 2018
The entirety of Landmark Mall (with exception of attached Sears store) is officially closed. The place was always a ghost town with no one visiting and half the stores closed. Now, all the stores have shuttered their doors. The only useful thing I can think of that would put this building to any use would be to rent it out as the setting of an 80s B-rated horror movie where teens are dared to spend a night in the supposed haunted mall.

Using her baby senses Maia is able to detect the true Evil Mike.

#676) Friday, April 13, 2018
I am reminded that I have not played Overwatch in over a week now, I think. Been so busy making updates to condo for last week (wood floor, painting, moving stuff) that I'm missing out on new events. My PC isn't even setup and won't be for days probably! Baby (pics) everywhere! w00t

#677) Friday, May 11, 2018
Adorbs! Hey, word on the street is that we soon might be in a better location for possible baby sitting/visits in the future...but you didn't hear that tidbit from me and is not a confirmation yet!

#678) Wednesday, May 16, 2018
In my head I am envisioning a team of anthropomorphic computer parts doing Power Ranger like battle with the week's new villain, this time a lightning based fiend. The villain throws out a bolt of evil electric waves at the group and Cpt. Video Card jumps in front of it to protect the rest of the team. It's the series finale and he saves the day, but he now must retire. He is replaced by his younger brother who conveniently was always hanging around the group yet didn't realize who they truly were until the time came that he was needed to join.

#679) Monday, May 28, 2018
Ce la vie!

#680) Wednesday, June 20, 2018
It looks fun and I totally forgot that it's in the VR world so you're submerged within the environment. I think Taje bought DDR for the Wii maybe 6 years ago and we played possibly twice before storing away and later tossing. Having to utilize rubber mats to try to block out cushioned rug (and the fact neither one of us are any good at it or truly cared) was good incentive not to play it. Rhythm game using hands, though? Intrigue piqued++

#681) Friday, July 06, 2018
Hooray! Love that look at 47 weeks.

#682) Friday, August 10, 2018
I listened to that Morning Song and for a second it almost sounded like Portal's "Still Alive" in my head.

I am feeling my age now. I look at that lawn and get super jealous, imagining what it would be like to have one that flat, lushly green and kempt.

#684) Wednesday, August 29, 2018
Wonderful, another game I need to buy. At least I think I will have more time for it, though. Made the decision to stop playing Overwatch until some new content/event/special campaign comes out. I was only playing it just enough every week to get loot boxes and would then stop. It was becoming a "play/pay enough so you can collect everything" mentality and that's no good.

Now that I have a new computer I'm about half-way through with Doom 2016 (should be done by the time sequel comes out), and I just bought the sequel to Guacamelee (reasonably titled Guacamelee 2). I'm looking forward to this one as the first was very fun and actually kept my interest all throughout to the point of me beating the game. Very rare. Most games are bought, played a little, then left to the side for some later play through.

Yes, the famous Dungeon & Dragons Mimic creature! Is she a precious treasure, or a hidden mob in disguise? Reach out your hand and discover for yourself.

Rocket Frog! I went there I think last month with Sachin and his wife. We went during trivia night and our team won and got free mug. And just yesterday, after practice, I went to Crooked Run with others. Tacos and beer, loved it. Thumbs up.

I never use the Switch Joy Cons for motion control. Too frustrating trying to wave around sticks in particular methods for certain movements when sometimes you really are looking for precision. If I have the option to use my Pro Controller on any Switch game I do.

#689) Wednesday, October 17, 2018
It feels super weird hearing the Wii U described as an old console. I just finished setting up my Wii the other day in order to finally start getting to old Gamecube games I still haven't finished.

Wrong, he is no man but an immortal god walking amongst us!

I feel Braid had more going for it than the Witness, although I did not finish it myself (needing literal exact timing constantly wears on me). I've seen videos of people playing the Witness and I kept wondering when the line puzzles would stop and entirely new mechanics would come into play, but it just became more of the same and did not catch my interest enough to get it. Braid at least had the 2D platforming, puzzle solving, time controlling mechanics.

-I am Michael Jackson/Chelonias/Jaood/Evil Mike. -Herndon! (3.5 miles as the crow drives) -It is one of my go to websites for periodic update checks. Reviews, comments, interesting thoughts? Yes! Now, when did the site switch to a MWF update schedule instead of M-F? I wonder if that impacted viewership?

I feel like certain monikers can't be chosen by the person, they must be bestowed upon them.

#694) Friday, March 22, 2019
That reminds me that I got an email from Google the other day in regards to my account (one I wasn't aware I had). I've only got until the end of the month in order to save all my supposed info before it's gone.

#695) Monday, April 08, 2019
For some reason I am imagining you observing her from a distance with a lab coat and clipboard jointing down notes. "The subject known as Maia seems to enjoy the tactile sensation of grass under her feet. Tickle time will be introduced as a catalyst to gauge changes in emotional state. More to follow!"

#696) Friday, April 19, 2019
Game Suggestion: Baba Is You Came across this game last week accidentally and I'm loving it. It's an indie puzzle game involving moving words around to create sentences/code that change the very way the environment is interacted with in order to get to the goal. It's a puzzle game that actually challenges you to think logically about what it is you're doing and how you go about doing it. The art style is left super plain and minimalistic so it doesn't distract from the core of the game. Definitely recommend, I think it would be right up your alley. I think it's on both switch and PC. Poor Maia. I feel for her when it comes to trying something new like that and it turns out to be bad. Worse yet, at such a young age it may turn her off from trying other new things. Hopefully not, though!

#700) Monday, June 03, 2019
I am feeling the transition, as well.

#701) Monday, June 10, 2019
Interesting. I would love to know more about your journey into the world of AWS. I?m actually thinking about getting into it for possibly career switch but unsure best way to start. How did you begin? Any particular courses you took? Goals? Best method of studying? Resources used? I very curious.

#702) Wednesday, July 10, 2019
I will have to check out 12 Monkeys now.

#703) Friday, July 26, 2019
The princess section was very fun, but the majority of the movie just didn't entice me the same way the first one did.

#704) Friday, August 02, 2019
Hello!

#705) Wednesday, August 07, 2019
Anytime I see an update like this it gives me things to look forward to. Yes, we will have to think of a time for you all to meet his royal babyness at some point. Having a young one to look after really makes me appreciate any free time I have (and regret the wasted time I used to), so trying to make time for others feels insane. I've mostly blocked out the rest of the world.

I feel like I need a full sized image of garlic steak bites.

#707) Wednesday, August 28, 2019
Oh wow, Hearthstone. I remember that game. I also remember Annie's fried rice...so good! I had to immediately buy the special Chinese sausage she used when I got back home to try to replicate the dish. Planning anything is hard with kids.

#708) Friday, September 20, 2019
#7 hands down truth.

#709) Wednesday, November 20, 2019
Interesting, urizone.net is the same age as Penny Arcade. And pre-GPS days of driving around areas you aren't familiar with brings back bad memories to me. How did we ever do it before? Having your MapQuest instructions printed out, making a wrong turn and not knowing how to get back on track? Terrifying!

#710) Monday, November 25, 2019
Nooooo! Must wait...until turkey...day is...over!

#711) Wednesday, January 15, 2020
You seemed to have transferred some of your Asian super power of "not looking like you have really aged" to the Mrs. Did this thing really happen 10 years ago or did you just put up a picture of you guys from last week to accompany the post?

#712) Friday, January 17, 2020
Wegmann's layout organization is such a crazy mess. It still throws me off that they have frozen food aisles in the middle of the store.

I have no clue what to do with my blank CD-Rs except maybe make a playlist of baby music that will always stay in my car.

#714) Wednesday, January 22, 2020
I'm even having issues finding a real need for DVD-Rs. Oh, and remember when CD-RWs and DVD-RWs were a thing people cared about? Back in the dark early days of internet and technology, when resources were scarce and the idea/concept of a GB was unfathomable...

#715) Monday, February 17, 2020
Picture #4: Anti-Corona Brian

#716) Wednesday, February 19, 2020
How odd. I was just telling Taje about the glory days of Team Turtle and our lvl 59 battleground prowess throughout the bnet forums. I do not think she cared in the slightest. I can't imagine the lvl 50-59 BG still being a thing when the max level is even double that. I will always miss vanilla WoW and the days of having to actually explore for my quest objectives based solely on sparse NPC quest descriptions. Actually having to GRIND from lvl 59 to 60 because you have literally done every quest possible and it's still not enough to get you over the top? Annoying yet FUN! "Welcome adventurer! You are a new lvl 1 gnome warlock and the king will need your help! Go visit farmer Bob down the road and he will give you your flying mount to get you started." NO! Back in my day mounts were legendary things people aspired to obtain over the course of months, but now....they are basically starting gear.

I wanted ANSWERS in Yesterday, but got nothing but more questions. The movie was good overall, but was also a let down that gnaws at me.

#720) Monday, March 16, 2020
Has COVID-19 also affected the Uri Poker of March, putting it on hold as well as so many other things? Taje's school is out for Spring Break followed by a week of forced work from home, all kendo events cancelled locally and across the country, and I am plagued with rush job requests on updating people's laptops at work due to corona issues (Health & Human Services). We have gone to about 5 different grocery stores now and only found toilet paper at one place (store brand, limit 2). Various foods are wiped out including frozen pizzas, meats, and ramen, and we keep seing tons of scared people wearing latex gloves and face masks. It's such a weird feeling.

#721) Monday, May 04, 2020
Hmmmm, how well do you think this would work with a thinner cut of meat, like skirt steak? Probably adjustments would need to be made with marinating time/cooking time.

#722) Monday, May 11, 2020
Did you know that Footmen Frenzy is apparently still being played, even in the War3 remake? I did a google search for the name 'jaood' the other day to see what showed up and came across this video. https://youtu.be/lsrjTXO8u64

#723) Wednesday, May 20, 2020
I'm just going to go ahead and give you credit for this. Keep it up. time to squeeze the juice out of them!

#724) Wednesday, June 10, 2020
Oi! Where do you guys go again for trail walks with Maia? Taje was expressing a sudden interest/curiosity about it as a potential activity for taking the wee baby Tobias out to explore and experience now that he is walking. He loves running around in the open street but it's not quite the best place for a baby and being in a forest trail might be a sight for him. Maybe we can all walk around together!

#725) Wednesday, July 01, 2020
We had planned a trip to visit my family down in Florida later this month, but now we're waiting to see how things are looking. It may not be worth it to just sit in the home for a week there, not going anywhere or doing anything (not to mention potential to getting the RONA).

#726) Friday, July 10, 2020
There are a lot of train perils. At least you know to be on the look out for sneaky, mustachioed fiends less they abduct you and tie you with rope to a train track.

#727) Wednesday, July 22, 2020
Sounds like a great way to spend an RV camping trip!

#728) Monday, August 03, 2020
What the heck happened in 2009??

#729) Friday, August 21, 2020
What really makes you appreciate Hamilton even more are a lot of the subtle details many people miss. I've seen several videos about them and when I find out new info I am always more awed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2q1PTOSbdhM&t=493s Taje & I first saw/heard Hamilton at the Kennedy Center (not the original cast). We later acquired the soundtrack with original cast and felt a bit saddened because the guy playing Hamilton that we saw had a MUCH better sounding voice than Lin Manuel Miranda. We were actually a little turned off listening to him, although now it's the only voice we hear so we've gotten used to it.

Who drew that? Brian drew that.

#731) Monday, September 07, 2020
Has she been exposed to the classic Disney collection of movies like Snow White and 101 Dalmatians? How would she fair with the emotional and existential reality of death in the Lion King?

#732) Monday, September 21, 2020
If it passes the MAR (Maia Approval Rating) then what else is there to say?

#733) Wednesday, September 23, 2020
Yes, but...the dangers of traveling and the unbelievable distance between us (3.5 miles as the crow drives)!

#734) Monday, December 07, 2020
Whoa whoa, hold up...are you actually indoctrinating her into the antiquated notion of a 9 planet solar system? No, this is one ghost that will need to be given up. Despite the nostalgia around the notion of a planet named "Pluto" we must, unfortunately, teach our children that the planets stop out at Neptune. If Maia continues to preach the teachings of Pluto she will become a pariah amongst her future school classmates!

#735) Friday, January 01, 2021
Oh snap, congrats!

#736) Wednesday, January 06, 2021
Yesssss, get them started on video games young. I'm imagining you guys playing 4p Mario Party/Kart one day and just having a jolly good time.

#737) Wednesday, January 13, 2021
"Excited to watch me play Zelda before bedtime." THE DREAM!

#738) Friday, February 12, 2021
I am jealous of Maia's daily 1-hour Zelda time.

#739) Friday, March 12, 2021
I'm already forgetting what the deck looked like...time won't stop and keeps messing with my memories!

#740) Monday, April 05, 2021
Oh, you mentioned grilling filet mignon and that's reminding me it's just about that season again. Looking forward to posted recipes (like a Worschetershiiresh marinated filet mignon) to possibly try out!

#741) Wednesday, April 07, 2021
Hooray! It's a good feeling getting the shot, sort of a sense of freedom/completion in a way. Taje and I are getting #2 today. I want to say this feels like the end of this pandemic nightmare, but news is saying stuff about newer, stronger mutated forms showing up? Not fair!

#742) Monday, April 12, 2021
I really do need to pick back up and finish Doom Eternal. Never beat original campaign, plus there's the expansions. Makes me long for the days of summer vacations.

#743) Monday, April 26, 2021
Congrats!!!!!!!!

#744) Friday, April 30, 2021
Loving the thought that Ian shares half your genes, thus he shares half your name.

#745) Wednesday, May 05, 2021
Oh, just an FYI, but watch yourself when it comes to changing the diaper and the "haha, I will pee on you now that I am exposed" possibility. It's a thing baby boys do and will inevitably happen to you (happened several times to us). Don't know if Maia did that to you or if baby girls even have that same risk.

#746) Monday, May 10, 2021
I visit your site this morning to check updates and I'm instantly being given the stare-down. Feel like I'm being judged somehow with both just gawking at me.

#747) Monday, May 10, 2021

#749) Monday, May 31, 2021
Happy to be able to meet Ian, but also sad Maia was not there (I wanted to have some back and forth video game discussions!).

#750) Monday, June 21, 2021
Wow, I had forgotten about Hearthstone. Haven't played that game ever since Overwatch came out (which I haven't played since...Hamster hero was released?). I bet so many decks/expansions have come and gone now. Btw, when was it that Maia first started watching/joining you on your gaming sessions? Was there encouragement? Trying to see or figure out how I can get Tobias interested and we can have father/son gaming time.

#751) Wednesday, July 07, 2021
Wow...Maia with the profound thoughts and existential questions. So wise beyond her 4 years!

#752) Monday, July 19, 2021
Yeah, from what I've heard, things like the amount of photos/videos taken or overall 'concern' for each proceeding child seems to diminish. Difference between first and second

#753) Monday, August 02, 2021
Whoa, not the name of a commenter I was expecting to see. As for site popularity, I will help out by advertising it on my MySpace page and putting it in my AIM profile/away message....or just making a post about it on NH Discussion Forum.

#754) Monday, September 13, 2021
There's always something to be said when visiting the Uri Zone early morning at the start of work day and the first thing to see is a (possibly) naked Brian staring back at you. Good morning, sir!

#755) Wednesday, September 22, 2021
There is no blame. Girls do not fart.

#756) Friday, September 24, 2021
Your game reviews always remind me of what is out there and that I should just sit down and actually play these games. I often forget that video games exist and then get the urge and get sucked back in. I don't recall, but did you try the first game, Ori and the Blind Forest? How does it compare to the sequel?

#757) Friday, September 24, 2021
I got amped reading the post and remembering I've always heard good things about these games and just went onto Steam and bought the Ori combo pack. Making my way through the first game now.

#758) Friday, October 01, 2021
Not exactly how I remember it. Thought Bill Murray was on the groom's side, but maybe my memory is a bit fuzzy.

#759) Monday, October 04, 2021
Any noticeable differences between #1 and #2? Anything seem easier or harder? Wondering, if there any truly apparent differences, would they maybe be due to differences between boy/girl or just being 1st/2nd child? And dang! Looking at last picture there almost seems like an optical illusion/magic eye sort of thing because the visual of his face keeps switching back and forth for me between looking like Rebecca and Brian.

#760) Wednesday, October 27, 2021
This year we are going as family of farm animals. Baby T will be sporting his chicken costume!

#761) Monday, November 08, 2021
BU: "And that's what eating at a restaurant is like." Maia: "We should do this ALL the time!" Life goals. Also, if she is worried about falling into lava then she would absolutely hate the SNES Mario Kart Rainbow Road. Absolutely no rails on that thin, long, twisting track so if you veer off course you just fall into the nothingness of the void of space.

#762) Friday, November 19, 2021
I remember the old, "true" classic days of exploring Azeroth where a quest was a brief, generic description of where you need to go for X. "Somewhere, to the West, a clan of gnolls drops a purple flower. Collect 10." These days it feels like a golden arrow POINTS you directly to where you need to go and highlights your minimap with items locations. Before, you'd have to have special WoW map/quests websites open with information provided from other users on specific quests and hope they left map coordinates. Even then, you'd have to pray that the correct mobs spawn rate is decent and drop rate isn't 1/25. Back in my day we had to GRIND to level up! There weren't enough quests to go around and the top tier highest lvl of 60 goal was a regular land mount that was a little bit faster than running. We didn't get mounts just because we leveled up to 15 and dagnabbit we appreciated it.

#763) Wednesday, December 01, 2021
Takes me back!

#764) Wednesday, December 15, 2021
Whoa, got real confused for a second. Was just casually scrolling through photos thinking just another picture day and saw March and I was like "What wait, again already, #3 on the way??"

#765) Wednesday, December 15, 2021
But what about spinoffs? (actually don't know how that would work in this analogy but still!)

#766) Friday, December 24, 2021
Love it. Also, the accompanying chorus from Ian? Awesome.

#767) Wednesday, February 02, 2022
0 years ago today, on February 2, 2022, Was underwhelmed by the announcement of the former Washington Redskins new name, the Commanders. Acknowledged that the name was more "woke", then put it out of mind as the team still sucks.

#768) Friday, February 04, 2022
The audacity of that mouse. Hanging out by the Connect Four!

#769) Wednesday, February 23, 2022
Has she seen Encanto? Tobias is obsessed with that movie. And a bunny yard sale? Is she getting rid of them??

#770) Monday, February 28, 2022
For a second there I kept thinking Grandpa Uri was wearing a little top hat.

#771) Monday, March 21, 2022
We probably take Tobias to Hyperkidz maybe every other weekend. Chasing after him in the jungle gym area with the multiple floors is complete fun for him because he likes being chased but killer on my back because the roof for each level is just too short for me so I'm always running after a 2 year old with lurched back. We've probably been to the place easily over 20 times, now.

#772) Monday, April 11, 2022
I love the idea that for Grandma's birthday Maia receives something :o

#773) Wednesday, April 20, 2022
I have apparently lived in/near (or visited) all the places you have been. Centreville, VA (two locations, 2nd one on border of Chantilly off of Stringfellow Rd near Chantilly HS) Blacksburg, VA Herndon, VA Alexandria, VA Lived in Eglin Air Force Base, FL for a bit and had a layover in Korea as a kid.

#774) Monday, April 25, 2022
Crazy, already a year??

#775) Monday, May 16, 2022
Unique people speak up!

#776) Wednesday, May 18, 2022
The last little death gasp of the mall had to be it's inclusion as the location of a fight scene in the (unimpressive) Wonder Woman '84 movie. I lived in Alexandria for a little over 8 years before moving to Herndon in 2018 and I can honestly say that mall was always depressing each of the 2-3 times I went there. Nobody was ever there, about 80% of the stores/shops were boarded up and closed and I don't think food court was ever open. It was very sad, like walking through the mall in Dawn of the Dead, felt super empty due to zombie outbreak except no zombies.

#777) Wednesday, June 01, 2022

Halfway there to the wonderous double-digit domain!

#781) Friday, August 26, 2022
Did the first day of school start on a Thursday for many people? I'm confused.

#782) Thursday, September 15, 2022
Looking the same. Give me your godly eternal youth!

#783) Wednesday, October 05, 2022
When you mentioned she already knew about Luigi's mansion I half expected her to say something like she read about it in an ancient history book.

#784) Monday, October 10, 2022
Oh, neat, we saw Disney on Ice just yesterday! Amazing to see how effortlessly the performers can skate/walk/run/carry out on the ice like it's nothing. I kept getting worried during the Frozen portion, though, because of the two people Sven reindeer contraption. Skating seems hard enough without having to do it inside an animal suit while connected to another person in a weird position.

#785) Friday, October 14, 2022
I remember I stopped playing right around the time Ashe was coming out so to me it feels like the game has released 6+ new heroes. At the time I was only playing it enough to get my weekly loot boxes and never sat down really to just enjoy the game itself and it got to be a bit of a grind just for the hope of getting a fancy costume. Bunch of changes have been made but it still just feels like it's not really a sequel but a large patch/update. As I am thinking back on all the time I spent playing OW and the nostalgia that's hitting me I just keep thinking...when was the last time I played Diablo 3? I should play my necro some more.

#786) Monday, October 17, 2022
If you had to have one, what would your last meal be composed of?

#787) Wednesday, October 26, 2022
Be wary of those rabbits as pets...several years ago our niece/nephew got a couple of rabbits for Xmas as pets and when I went in to hold one it decided to drop the whole cute n cuddly act and tried to eviscerate me. Not fun pets. https://i.imgur.com/fTv4kxE.jpeg

a few weekends ago we saw Bluey live at the Kennedy Center. The entire audience went wild when the theme song started playing and we were down for it!

#789) Wednesday, January 18, 2023
The term "Asian Don't Raisin" comes to mind.

#790) Monday, February 20, 2023
Hahaha, yes! Absolutely love Maia's face there! It just embodies such seriousness and concentration while at the wheel. Not going to let Rainbow Road get the best of her.

#791) Monday, February 27, 2023
Still have yet to even try Overwatch 2. The desire has just been sapped away. And I wish I had an awesome owl hat.

#792) Monday, March 20, 2023
Bluey is part of our nightly routine with Tobias. Very good show and Mommy/Daddy look forward to it more than boy.

#793) Wednesday, March 29, 2023
I feel a bit ashamed for myself because when I read "exotic reptile" my mind immediately thought you were buying an iguana wearing lingerie and lipstick.

Replace the road sign with a big 'X'.

#797) Friday, September 29, 2023
How goes the Spanish? Do you feel you are at a conversational level or still getting the basics down? Also, how does learning a spoken language compare to learning a computer language? Is it comparable in any sense, given that the computer code is dubbed as a 'language'?

#798) Monday, October 16, 2023
What sort of PC are you working with these days? Using a prebuilt type setup, or have you customized something to deck it out to play your games? Whatever I am using now (maybe a 6-7 y/o machine) seems to be getting on and showing it?s age. Bought it with intention of having it last and being a system that it would, in my mind, never need to be swapped out because no way could graphics and processing ever need to be more powerful than could handle say WoW cinematics, but now? I tried doing Diablo 4 beta and had to actually delete stuff because I didn?t have the required 50gb+ free space games these days seem to require AND my machine couldn?t properly view the cutscenes and choked on gameplay so much to the point it crashes. Random thoughts I am having I guess

For any event that is just father and son you should just say "BrIan did...." or "BrIan went...."

Well, you technically are still within walking distance, just gotta put the time in!

#802) Wednesday, January 31, 2024
Going to use your AWS cert pick as a sort of guide/goal. I told myself I would start getting into AWS last year and plans fell through, but thinking I need to just use you as motivation and make 2024 different. Don't really know what I'm doing but I've got to at least start somewhere. Maybe I'll pick your brain sometime about it.

#803) Monday, February 05, 2024
