Thanks so much for "throwing yourself to the wolves" for the sake of all of us out there...
You know, in some circles, that fact makes you a hottie.
#3) Tuesday, August 30, 2005
Perhaps this is why it is said that you throw such excellent parties: "...especially if you liqour the crowd up and get them to..."
#6) Wednesday, November 16, 2005
Ah, I remember the days when teachers could hand out candy. These days we can't give kids anything, much less something designated as a food of "minimal nutritional value". If only things could be simple again - those mini tootsie rolls were great bribes. ;D

For those of us in southern Spain, nothing - and I do mean NOTHING - opens until 10:00 am. Every. Single. Day.
#11) Tuesday, May 15, 2007
Your 28 seconds made me think of a lop-sided...sidelong?...carousel. You know, the ride with the horses - but in your version the horses are melty and Dali-like and people can't sit on them properly - they keep sliding off on the ups and downs.

Gotta watch the ghost cats - they appear without warning. Excellent breakfast, by the way. My favorite is the sunrise shot!
I realize that you already know this. I only mention it because he made you complete the report...and also...the tuba playing? It rocks too.
Doobie whole-heartedly agrees; of this I am sure.
#15) Wednesday, September 12, 2007
Excellent - dessert before the meal - the best way to go! Ha! Mermaid! Also - breakfast has been scientifically proven to be the best meal of the day...in fact, my favorite time to eat it is for dinner.

At BU!'s request: Todays musical contribution encourages me to envision a dream-like surreal game-show complete with flashing lights of many colours and odd camera angles that change sporadically. Poor contestants - they can't figure out if it is a good thing that they are on this show or not.
#18) Tuesday, October 23, 2007
I agree with KBS and B - I immediately pictured Turk and JD struttin through the hospital in their fabulous pimp outfits. If I knew the episode name, I'd list it - but you know the one.
#19) Friday, February 08, 2008
If you're really using crappy toilet paper, then that explains why it disappears so quickly. It takes more of the crappy kind to, uh, get the job done.
#20) Wednesday, September 03, 2008
Legos are seriously the best toys ever...along with lincoln logs and tinkertoys...
#22) Wednesday, November 05, 2008
Dude...Amber looks like she is about to eat you...
Back away from the angry kitty.
#23) Friday, December 05, 2008
Dude.
We got back to Grammie's and Pop-Pop's house and she was all:
*giggle giggle* and *coo*.
You are right; the yellowness must have thrown her for a loop! We'll have to try again another time if you think the kitties can take it.
#25) Wednesday, January 21, 2009
Wow. I didn't see the fourth season, or even the third for that matter, but DUDE. Now I don't have to. Everything is oh so clear. Thanks!
#27) Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Dude - I've been getting all sorts of musical mentionings lately! I had forgotten that I even had that screen name, much less what I actually said about the clowns. I do remember the psycho circus that played in my mind when I heard that excerpt, though...creepy.
#28) Friday, May 15, 2009
Sorry - I've been in VA for the past two weeks and the child, she has been sick and/or not sleeping per the usual...hopefully I'll have something to post when I return home...unless, of course, she up and eats me.
#31) Friday, August 07, 2009
You could have runner's knee (hiker's knee?). This is caused when you over-pronate (your foot turns in too much while running/walking). Many people over-pronate, myself included. I have to wear stability running shoes - they have more support at the arch. I had to wear them as every-day shoes for a while to get the pain to go away. You could try it; it worked for me.

Inneresting.
Also, any chance my avatar could be the sunglasses photo on my recent(ish) post? If it's not too much trouble...
#34) Wednesday, September 09, 2009
At some point, I received all of the shirt tales stuffed animals for Christmas. And then suddenly, they were no more...I blame the yard sale thief.
#35) Monday, October 12, 2009
Dude. What a story for your grand-kids...nothing about walking in the snow uphill both ways to school, but strep on your honeymoon? Jeepers.
#37) Sunday, October 18, 2009
As long as you are consuming the beer when you write the song, all is well.
#38) Monday, November 23, 2009
You must give a New Super Mario Bros Wii review geared towards people like me. You know, the ones who can manage Super Mario Galaxy like it is cake ('cause mostly it is...and Hello, I was Anna's hero), but who in the past kinda stunk it up on Mario Bros.
#41) Thursday, January 14, 2010
I think you should concentrate on a recitative (sp?) for the operation game idea.
#42) Friday, January 29, 2010
Worth it - we get to see what you picture when you write the wackiness.
#43) Tuesday, February 02, 2010
Wow, Rebecca really needs to teach you something about the spanish language...
#44) Wednesday, February 03, 2010
These are highly entertaining on their own, and doubly so with your many years later interpretations.
#45) Friday, February 12, 2010
If no one was under it, did it make a sound?
More importantly, how high did your parents jump when they heard it?
Or did they just keep on singin' and playin' tuba?
#46) Wednesday, February 24, 2010
He once told me he could keep a Steinway in his pocket. There must be magic involved...
#47) Monday, March 01, 2010
Oh, Anna, if only I were there - we could play Mario for HOURS!!!
#49) Wednesday, April 28, 2010
I am sure that when you say that we made it to the last level what you really mean is that you did; if you are "bad at console games" I am far worse. I only do well in games these days because really, they've made them much easier...and that is fine by me!
#50) Friday, June 04, 2010
So how is the Mario Galaxy 2? So bummed that we left too early to get it. Congrats to your family on the new addition!!
#52) Thursday, August 05, 2010 1) Who are you?
The Expat; I stalk BU! while overseas; currently Russia.
2) How do you know me?
This one time, at band camp...oops, sorry Doobie. Seriously, folks, BU! was everywhere I went: Squires (VT music dept.), band practice, and on my walks in between those and the dorm. Somehow we actually started talking, although being complete wall-flowers, I have no idea how THAT happened.
3) How and when did you find this site?
Sometime after being invited to a pretend 'frat' party. It was...'epic'...or at least Shac and Kelley thought so.
4) Where is your website?http://certaincaesura.blogspot.com
Although I don't use our real names there and as usual am the only one taking photos, so you might not know it is I.
5) What would you like to say to the rest of us?
Здравствуйте!
Zdrastvoytye (Hello)!
#53) Monday, September 13, 2010
I believe your captions for the website work and dinner are mis-matched....
Miss Thing is "Meow"-ing beside me because I told her you have cats at your house. OH, and she'd like to visit them. We'll be in your area from September 24 - October 2 if you'd like to oblige!
#55) Friday, October 01, 2010
Happy Day to you both!!! Thanks for dinner the other night; we both had a lot of fun! Miss Thing has been talking about the cats under the sofa and the two of you!
#56) Wednesday, November 10, 2010
Oh, Polifrone....(that's all I've got on that one).
And HOW could we leave out the MOVIE CREDITS?!?!?!?!!!
Also: It's not easy being green.
That is all.
#57) Tuesday, November 23, 2010
Really? They need to cheat on MacGamut? I was a member of the ear-training remediation group as I was totally unable to "hear" anything when I was at University and even I managed to pass it without cheating. Come on, people.
#59) Friday, December 10, 2010
There should also be some playing of new DS games that Paige might like so that you can tell her which ones are good and which ones are crap. You know, in the interest of holiday spirit and all of that jazz.
#60) Monday, December 13, 2010
Um, hello, we have to get together when we are up there in early January. Mostly because we want to see you and Ms. Rebecca...and the WEDDING PHOTOS!!!!
BTW, E has a hokie snowman that she informs me is my friend Ms. Rebecca, who has the kitty Amber.
Why you (and Booty, no less) are not included in this I have NO IDEA
And now that I have written you an email as a comment, I shall stop.
#61) Friday, January 07, 2011
According to my Mom, their "oh, hum!" and "la-la-li, la-la-li" comments mean that _their_ days are numbered...because they will drive her to Zhu Zhu murder.
We are looking forward to this evening! And we live in Russia, but tend to camp out at people's homes in Virginia.
#62) Friday, January 21, 2011
Holy work schedule, batman! Or not so holey, since really you worked the whol-E time.
#63) Tuesday, June 28, 2011
I say glass tile backsplash and then pick a complementing paint color from there...and since I visit once in a blue never, I am so sure that my opinion will weigh heavily in your decision...
#64) Wednesday, November 30, 2011
Let's be honest here: dancing the burro is far more useful than modal counterpoint. At least you can pull that one out at a "par-tay" or Doobie-run frat reunion.
#66) Wednesday, January 18, 2012
How far is "twice the distance to the restroom" and how about the actual length of "five times the distance to the nearest printer"? A few feet, a few meters, a mile?
#67) Friday, January 27, 2012
How far did you get in 22 hours...and yes, I know most of that was "OOhhhh, watch THIS" and Hey! Gassy! Maybe you should go TALK to the STINK-MONSTER so we can save the BEANS! Remember, he's in a CAVE over THERE!"
How close to finishing the gameplay did you manage to get? Wow, that is some really bad English...sorry...
#68) Friday, March 23, 2012
I totally agree with the "drive ___ miles and turn ___ on ___" approach to writing directions.
#69) Friday, March 23, 2012
Also, completely unrelated, Ready Player One is good. If I didn't have 40 bajillion things planned yesterday and oh, yeah, two little ones, I'd have finished it already.
#70) Thursday, April 19, 2012
Ummm...my eldest child is now a spectator. She frequently requests that I play Mario ("You did it, Mama! You got the star!") and acts as peanut gallery, which I deserve because I am fairly certain that I do that. Another request is "Flink" so I can save "...flthszelda". Of course I am playing the penultimate Zelda game because while I received SS for my birthday alas I did not receive the Wii-Motion Plus doohickey needed to actually play the game. Game. Foul.
#72) Wednesday, May 02, 2012
Ahhhh, yes, the days of 83 cents per gallon petrol...that is the absolute cheapest I ever purchased gasoline at that particular station and it was the cheapest in Salem. Now it is slowly approaching 83 dollars per tank...blehhh.
#73) Monday, April 30, 2012
The salesman must have noticed the color of your current vehicle...
#74) Friday, May 11, 2012
Um, hello - you could have put me in there and we'd've won in the miles away category....
#75) Tuesday, June 19, 2012
This is hilarious. I especially like your focus group for interviews...
#77) Monday, July 09, 2012
I know some who would hire you for skill dot six...they may or may not be my parents...and they would pay double if you can expand upon that skill by also fast-forwarding through commercials without missing any of the show.
#81) Thursday, November 01, 2012
Ooohhhh - I'm glad you like Chuck! Morgan can be kinda overwhelmingly weird that first season, but then they figure out his spot and things get better. We enjoyed the series, so Im glad that so far you do too!
#83) Wednesday, November 14, 2012
At first I was wondering where Shac was as my recollection is that they were inseparable. And then Wa-La! Were Mel and Melody the same person? If so, holy smokes!
#84) Wednesday, March 27, 2013
Ahhh, brings back memories. Any memory days re: Kermit's class? And all of the extra notes in my notebooks? I think I still have those in storage somewhere...How dare us omit the silver screen?
#85) Monday, April 08, 2013
E and I just watched Wreck-It-Ralph on our plane rides to/from Australia. What did you think of it? E's favorite part initially was that Bowser was in the therapy session.
#90) Tuesday, September 17, 2013
I agree with Tales of Symphonia. As for Okami, it is one of my favorite games ever. Then again, I might buy Nintendo systems just to play Zelda, so that makes sense. It is too bad you couldn't last past the long and irritating cut-scenes to get to the actual playing. Not that I blame you of course - as soon as I figured out how to skip them I did...and it cut down on the 'time played' by about half - holy time-sucking cut-scenes, batman!
#91) Thursday, December 05, 2013
Does it play any games from the previous hand-held or do we have to purchase all new games?
#95) Friday, February 27, 2015
Woot! Isaac is, in my professional mom opinion, a fabulous name for a young man. Congrats Anna and Ben!
#96) Wednesday, April 01, 2015
Yay for Spain - the sun doesn't go down until after 10 in summer and they don't start eating dinner until 10 anyway! Also, notebooks are great- I started doing that because otherwise I forget everything, especially now with my dummy mom brain.
#97) Wednesday, May 20, 2015
Not true! I liked Janny Wurts. I read and read (cause dude, long books) and then had to stop for some reason and just didn't pick it back up. Boooo. Also, you forgot to mention that I figured out the real suspect about 15 minutes into the movie. HA! Never to happen again, I am sure. I am glad you have a great memory!
#99) Friday, August 07, 2015
I vote for the game and the cooking. Then again I've been thinking I need to learn French, but time is currently a bit of an issue, so I could live vicariously through you if you choose to go that route.
#100) Monday, April 25, 2016
Can you post/email the recipe for the salmon? "As you wish" is a much better response than "Inconceivable!", just FYI.
#106) Wednesday, August 16, 2017
Love this! Best to you all and enjoy it, challenges and all! Maia has two excellent parents, so I cannot wait to see her personality emerge. Find the joy, trust your gut, and always remember hugs can make almost anything survive-able.
#107) Monday, August 21, 2017
Sorry to hear of this loss, you guys. I always loved hearing her stories and antics. Love to you all.
#108) Monday, January 08, 2018
Greetings from Singapore!
My goals:
- Don't pass out from heat and humidity
- Don't spend all the moneys on exorbitantly priced groceries
- Simultaneously don't starve the family because we don't have any food in the house
- Find housing
- Find...everything?
It's an adventure every time we move!! Happy New Year!
#109) Friday, January 05, 2018
HI!
It seems that with this Zelda, at least you can just get on with the story-line. Side quests, while sometimes helpful, are not mandatory. Although, the shrines could be kinda side-questy since some are hidden. I would like to know if it takes care of your I HATE SIDEQUESTS THAT ARE REQUIRED and THIS IS FORMULAIC/PREDICTABLE issue with previous games.
#110) Wednesday, May 09, 2018
Holy cannoli I remember this. Perhaps due to the fact that my legs were so sunburned from sitting on those rocks. Oy. It was mighty painful and oh so fashionable to have striped pink/white legs.
#112) Monday, February 04, 2019
- A remnant of ye olde university days
- Singapore! (for now)
- It's my semi-regular catch-up-with-the-uris viewer who also very much enjoys the reviews and all of Mama Uri's comments.
#114) Monday, April 26, 2021
Congrats!! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying life with a newborn. And if you're not, then that's totally allowed because taking care of littles can be tough! Love to all!
